As a C6Z owner who just had his heads replaced due to the well documented forum rants about valve issues, I hope the C7Z is not becoming a problem child! Keep the faith and may the car be back on the road ASAP!
Why not keep the chicken little sky is falling scrap in the C6Z section..I'm sure these owners want facts not Internet hype

Why is it "chicken little?" Right now the number is small but can certainly grow. The only good thing is that right now the engines can be serviced/replaced under warranty, but depending if this goes the way of the c6z the problem may not manifest until the warranty is up, and then you have a costly repair on your hands. The fact that GM let a known issue happen has left a sour taste in many c6z owners mouth so you can bet this issue will be scrutinized up and down until the issue is found and resolved for the c7z.
Bearings and rear end are the two items made today that still need breakin, supposedly in the former case due to lack of lead in the bearings now. And that's where we're seeing failures (plus flexplate comes up now and then).
Yet my rear end went and I babied the thing mostly for 500 miles. Certain the first 100 were light cruise on a highway at varying speeds.
Hope they sort yours out. I wouldn't worry too much if you get a replacement GM motor. Does that even go on the carfax? No idea.
I am deeply sorry to hear about your engine experience with your Corvette and can definitely understand any disappointment you might have.
We certainly want to look into this, offer additional support while you are at the dealership and help ensure the quickest repair time. Please send us a private message along with your contact information, VIN, mileage and involved dealership.

Because the C6Z issue is over blown internet hype. The vast majority of the C6Z folks are still running strong and haven't had the issue you speak of. The vast majority of the folks who did where taken care of by GM. And GM made improvements to mitigate the problem in the LS7's. So yes without yet knowing why this engine failed or if it was related to previous failures. Its way to early to be anything but chicken little hype.
And a bit disingenuous to bring LS7 issues into a LT4 discussion.
Hey Kaylee when you have a minute you might want to pop over the C6Z06 section and dive back into the LS7 valve issue that is plaguing many members too.

Sure I suppose, but the way I look at it was that the ball was dropped by GM, and hope that doesn't happen here was my point.

Hi Hirohawa,
I apologize if we have missed any concerns for the C6 Z06 LS7 valve issue. If this is something you’re experiencing, please send us a private message with VIN, mileage, contact information and preferred dealership. Or, if you could provide a link for a recent LS7 valve issue thread, I would be happy to reach out to anyone in need.

They made 8400 z06 in 2015. Four or five failures is incredible success rate.
Exactly!! Over 20 Gen 5 Vipers with failed engines in 2 years with maybe 1000+ sold. If that was Corvette's fail rate every hater would swarm CF like a disease. Porsche have had so many 911 engine failures its mind boggling. The list goes on. The truth is this happens by all manufacture's to some extent with their performance cars. 5 out 8400 is nothing.
OP, hope you get sorted fast if it is an engine you need. GL

towards the OP's attitude. These are machines and from time to time will fail. Sorry that it had to be you and not one of our resident trolls that has to endure an engine failure. I hope you receive a quick resolution to your problem.
