Just an update I picked up my C8 on Friday and everything worked great. No problems driving 2.5 hours back home it just turned over 500 miles so I will be taking it to the dealer to have the oil and trans fluid changed Friday. Also I’m gonna have the wheels checked out to to make sure there’s no pockmarks inside from defective casting. I took the wheels off myself just to take a quick look I didn’t notice anything. I did hear that little sewing machine noise almost behind my right ear which I guess is the direct fuel Injection that has been talked about previously. Wasn’t too bad, but noticeable. Here’s a couple pics. I’ve had several Ferraris, but this car is my first Corvette and it is spectacular. I am really impressed with this car. Brent
500 miles is a little soon for the DCT filter. If you feel an engine oil change is needed you'd be better of paying for that and getting the DCT filter changed with the next oil change.

I wonder if the gentlemen who I bought the car from was mistaken? He said I was supposed to take the car in at 500 miles to have oil and transmission fluid changed and inspected. Should I even be taking it in yet? Thanks for the advice.

According to and published by GM the first service interval for oil/filter change and ONLY transmission filter change, within the first year, is 7500 miles which is paid for by GM.

Ive seen others post here that attended Corvette "events" saying they were told to change the engine oil/filter at 500 miles despite what the manual says. This was oil only, not trans fluid or filter. The Corvette folks stating this privately expressed their opinion it was a good idea to do so and were frustrated with GM for their initial service intervals. Whether right or wrong, it simply can't hurt to get fresh oil in there after a 500 mile break-in. I recall in years past I've done similar and the service guy asked why I was so early with the service. I asked him to please just do as I ask, but to catch any oil coming out of the filter and examine the filter itself in a dish. I said, trust me. He did so and when I pick it up he laughed and said, well I guess I see now. He showed me some small metal shavings which had been captured by the filter. A huge deal, maybe not, but most Corvette owners are fairly **** so the above would likely make sense to them....
Now the question is do you also go forward with the trans oil filter change? I am considering doing engine oil at 500 and trans at 1500 since you are not supposed to track the car until 1500 has past and then you are supposed to add two ore quarts for track use.... Not sure yet how I'll proceed. At any rate Sir, I don't think over maintaining a high performance machine like this is ever a bad thing.

Hope you enjoy the car!
Thanks took it into the dealer this morning. Picking it up later today. Absolutely luv this C8.....worth every penny for sure.
Personally I change oil and filter on all my new vehicles, including motorcycles, at 500 miles, let those surfaces run in. I will have the 2 quarts added to the DCT as well probably at 7,500 miles.
Awesome looking cars and garage! Curious - you have a lot of Shell memorabilia in the garage as well. Is this because of Ferrari's partnership with Shell or just because you like Shell? I have a few Shell memorabilia items in my garage as well but that is mainly due to working for Shell for 38 years.
I have the 84 corvette as well as the 2020. The 84 was notorious for a few quirks like the Electronic Cluster and the Crossfire intake. But damn if it wasn’t fun and GM took care of any issues. And after it was out of warranty, well, then I modified it with an LSX stroker and 4L60e. Now it runs 11’s in the quarter and a hell of a lot of fun to drive. The C8, is one of the best cars I have ever driven and even more fun to drive. If you always worry about is it going to be reliable, remember the C8 was in development for many years. And you only live once. Now a Ferrari, that has more time in the shop than on the road. GM, I can take to many dealers. I haven’t had a single regret since buying mine, other than there haven’t been enough nice days to drive!
3LT dash leather problems? Wondering if the dreaded leather pulling up from the dash has shown up on any C8s as of yet. Cant seem to find any posts mentioning it, just wavy stitching.

There's been reports of it here occurring around the HUD.
Driving from LA to Vegas this morning my side indicator radar stopped about half way. Got a message that it was temporarily unavailable. After stopping and starting the car it seems to work again but I'm curious why it would just stop.

Tired out from all the close passes you made at the drive up window?
Well it happen to me after only getting the car 2 months ago (C8 Z51 HTC). Driving normally along the highway, car warning alarms went off and car started stalling and vibrating. Limped into nearest dealer and got the terrible news that the push rod snapped in half and the entire engine needs to be dropped. Not what I would expect from a brand new car that has only been driven as a daily. Very disappointed. Especially since this is my 2nd C8 after trading in the coup for the convertible. Never had this experience with Porsche or any other car brand for that matter.

Hi Dave sorry I missed your question. Yes it’s because the Ferraris partnership with shell. I’ve had several different Ferraris over the years and I just thought the colors also went well with the theme that I had in my garage in California and then in my garage when I moved to Indiana in November. Congratulations on 38 years with shell. That’s quite a career.

Wow that sucks. So sorry to hear that, hopefully they will have it fixed soon.
