Default Solar performance throttle

What is a general opinion from people that actually have put this on their car. On YouTube videos, but it seems like they’re all promoting it. Is it really any different than just changing your modes but more fine tune? When using it with a throttle body, is it much more effective?

I am going to give my opinion....
The controller cannot open more than full throttle, therefore the car is no faster.
The controller can re-map the the pedal so as a quarter pedal opens the throttle to half position, thereby giving the sensation that the car has a lot more to go.
It makes the pedal more sensitive, a slight push on the pedal gets you a lot of acceleration. An illusion.
Rick Conti loves his Solar Controller, but did not pay for his! He promotes it on his channel.
For performance you might get more from a performance air-intake throttle body or air-intake filter system.

We all like things different from others, that is wonderful. You do YOU.
My dream is to get black-chrome wheels someday. Some like them, others don't.
Best wishes to all.

I installed both the Soler throttle body and throttle controller on my car. The car is more responsive to the throttle input and a lag/hesitation I had from initial throttle input has virtually disappeared. To me, those things alone are worth the price of admission. Can the same results, or better, be attained from other methods, most likely. But those having an extended warranty on their car, you may want to ensure a tune on the car is not going to impact a warranty issue.

Modes are nice and quicker throttle response is noticeable, but that’s not why I personally bought it…I like the throttle lockout setting that can ONLY be controlled in the App. Thief can’t get in car, find little controller and turn off the lockout, that feature can only be controlled from my phone.

I like to drive my C8 and my ‘24 just turned 11K miles. I took it on the Hot Rod Power Tour last summer, and I gotta admit I stayed in a couple of nice hotels that were in a not so nice areas. I had concerns because it’s not unheard of for thieves to go after cars participating in the tour. Being able to lock out the throttle to at least slow them down offers a little more comfort…

Btw, just a note, the "Search" feature here often requires use of "Advanced search" to be useful... from my experience.

If you read those threads, you'll find that almost everyone who's actually installed one loves it. Almost everyone with a negative opinion has never used one.

Does it make your car any faster? No, and no one claims it does. Then again, neither do most aftermarket exhaust systems. But just as a louder exhaust makes the car more fun to drive, the Soler makes the car FEEL more responsive, and more fun to drive.

I was a skeptic, and when I had my C7 i argued throttle remappers didn't do anything you couldn't do with your right foot. Then I got convinced to try one. The Soler has a money back guarantee. I didn't consider returning mine for even a second.

Oh, and I did pay for mine, and get nothing for "promoting it." I don't give a rat's *** what Conti says, and he had no influence on my buying one.

Awesome mod. As stated above, the car is 0% faster than stock.......however, that doesn't matter, because it FEELS faster and more responsive. Super fun and the best $200 you can spend, period.

I had the Soler Throttle Controller installed at Carlisle this year. I love it. C8 seems so much quicker. I have set at Sport 5. Easy to change the settings on the attached fob or the phone app.
Go for it. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

That's an opinion we've heard a lot here - from people who haven't actually tried the Soler controller. It's interesting to see the conversion some of them had after actually trying it.

Read the threads and make up your own mind. Also consider that the installation is easy and reversible and the controller has a money-back satisfaction guarantee.

Jeez, not again…..

It is not an illusion. Reprogramming the throttle pedal response curve can negatively or positively change the responsiveness of the car. The change in responsiveness is NOT an illusion.

Does it make your car faster? No, does it make the car more responsive? Yes

I installed the throttle controller about a month ago. Removing the throttle lag/hesitation makes it well worth the money from a safety perspective in my opinion. Nothing makes the butt pucker like trying to make a left-hand turn into oncoming traffic and the car hesitates a fraction of a second.

100% changes the way the car reacts to throttle inputs and 100% can be felt while driving with it. Because you can easily control the mapping from the app you can make those changes and experience exactly what that does to the throttle response. For those saying there cannot be any difference they have never had one or driven a car with it. I change mine back to the factory settings and notice the laggy feeling throttle immediately. Have mine in Sport 4 and really appreciate the way it changes the throttle input and removes the lag.
