It's wonderful (not) to be able to read these same exact comments for the one thousandth time about wishing for a front-engine C8.
Half the people here seem to be unaware of how to post on forums. Hint: if there is already a thread containing the sentiments you are about the make, then add them to the existing thread rather than annoying everyone by re-posting the whole thing again and again and again.
Oh, and GM doesn't care if you personally won't buy a mid-engine C8, because they will be too busy selling them like hotcakes to everyone else. So just sit and stew, I guess.
But imagine the horror and inconvenience of being in the Lowe's parking lot with your Corvette and there's no place to put the six bags of mulch and the two dozen potted pansies sitting on the cart you just walked out with.
These are real concerns man!
LOL, one of my favorite things to do lately is to sit in the order pickup area at Nebraska Furniture Mart and watch the workers try and figure out how to load the things people have bought into the vehicles they drove.
A small SUV (I think it was a Pilot) with a couple plus two kids picked out a 100 inch 4k TV... on a rainy day. Good luck on that, it wouldn't fit in there with zero passengers. Someone else was there with a Colorado and bought a huge sectional sofa. When they left they made the moving scene from Beverly Hillbillies (the huge mound of crap with Granny sitting on top) look minor.
Will Gm continue to offer a front engined corvette? The majority of Corvette owners are not boy racers and do not take part in track days. We want a sports car suitable for touring with good luggage capacity like the C7 coupe.
Luckily for you there are thousands of C7 sitting on dealer lots for you to purchase.
The C8 mid engine will be a much better sports car than the C7.
The C7 will always be a much better GT than any mid engine sports car.
For all around driving fun I find my 458 to be much more fun to drive than my Callaway SC757.
If I am going on a road trip no questions the Callaway is the better car for a road trip.

Those of us who don’t eat dinner at 4PM may disagree. But really, this topic is nonsensical at this point. Why does this keep popping back up in the forums?

Like all the great luggage capacity of the C1, C2, C3 generations boy racers, LO?. I might fit two small carry-ons in my C2, if that much. My C6 is a pickup in comparison, but is much let sporty, and much more of an old man's cruiser, and I'm an old man. I'll take a C8 with 5-7 ft3 of storage space and be happy. I hope the Corvette goes back to being more of a sports car and less of an old man's cruiser.

Ooh, what if the no longer needed space for the driveshaft (or torque tube, or whatever that thing is called) is used for golf club storage???
It's almost a certainty that the gas tank will be in the center tunnel. The space frame Pontiac Fiero and also the Ford GT have it located there. The tank itself is in the shape of a canoe on the Fiero. Ironically, no aftermarket company ever produced an aftermarket/replacement Fiero gas tank. That is crazy since 370k Fiero's were sold in just 5 years. It's the safest location on a vehicle for the gas tank and will help improve handling since the tank will be in nearly the center of the car, below the two seats.
No one should be worried about a lack of luggage space. I can easily fit 3 sets of collapsible golf bags in the Fiero GT trunk which is a foot shorter than a Vette and not as wide. There is a mini spare tire taking up most of the space in the Fiero front trunk. Hopefully, GM wont have leaky Corvette trunks like some Fiero's had issues with.

I don’t care about luggage capacity. And I want my car to be a ME
I was actually being serious. Granted, I'm one of the "HD has trucks you can rent" guys, but at the same time I've had golf clubs and a toilet in my car at the same time!

Yeah, that was actually the joke comment of mine, I don't think theres gonna be useable storage there!
The front engine future - is in a sport SUV. GM isn't even in the segment. Why? The Cayenne, the Q8, all the way up to the Urus - they are selling strong. And GM is no where to be found in that segment. You can't enter that segment with a hot rod Tahoe or Traverse, you need a purpose built sport SUV - GM needs that.
