When you get the "top not secure" message is the top latched? I am trying to understand if it is a sensor issue or if the top is not secured. thanks.

Yes. Pushing up on the top from the inside at the latch locations it appears latched.

My car came with a few electrical oddities that seem to have gone away. I have not done an update unless they can install manually.
  • I've had an issue where my gauge cluster will show a random car message like "hood open" or whatever and then it just freezes and I don't have gauges until I park the car for a while.
  • My brightness adjustments also refuse to work quite often and/or they are very slow to react.
  • My alarm has gone off a couple times with my car just sitting in the garage untouched
Has anybody else seen these issues?

Did the dealership find anything?

I described in another dedicated thread that the dealer found a chaffed wire that was intermittently shorting. Fix is working so far.

Just met a gentleman with a 2022 C8 that had to have his transmission replaced due to the porosity problem. His car had a 13,XXX VIN and was built in Feb. I can't believe after 2 years of transmission issues this is still happening. Come on GM, get your act together!

My 2020 will be getting a new transmission. Waited 4 + weeks to get it approved. Hopefully I will get my car back soon.

I've had my 22' 5 months and 2500 miles. No issues until today, now I have a check engine and traction control light on. It says reduced acceleration, service traction control and service ESC. Car is drivable in all gears, but only in Z mode, My mode and Touring...the rest of the modes are unavailable. The cruise control and V4 is not available either. I drove it about 100 miles today with multiple restarts with no change. I have no idea what's going on and it looks like I'll have to unfortunately take it to the dealer.

Anyone who has had this issue or has any suggestions would be welcomed!

Quick question for all that are having issues with their C8's that require multiple weeks in the shop. Do they provide you a loaner/courtesy car? I cannot imagine some folks being able to go for weeks+ with no car. Wonder if there are mixed results too based on dealer. Also not expecting another C8 as a loaner, assume would be a Malibu/Equinox/Colorado or the like equivalent. Our GMC dealer provides the Terrain/Enclave but they will not work on Corvette's when I asked one of the service tech's.

No loaner here. It is hit or miss in my area with Chevy dealers. Also, that's usually a perk reserved for customers who purchase at that dealership. I'm not aware of any dealers in my area (any brand) that do loaners when car is purchased elsewhere.

There is no guarantee that you will get a loaner car in the Chevrolet warranty booklet, it is at the dealer's discretion. However, people have been able to get rental car reimbursement through Chevrolet customer assistance under extenuating circumstances.

It seems hard to believe that the Corvette is a person's only car. Unusual to say thr least.

We own two Subarus, and have always gotten courtesy or rental cars for warranty or recall work, but not for service outside of those two things. For my C8 first service, the dealership provided me with a rental car as they kept it overnight.

Flicker in just part of gear indication number

Just crossed over 10k in my daily driven 2021 C8 Z51. Last night I noticed that in the bottom of the dash display gear indicator (where the big D with little numbers 1-8) number that the very edge bottom right-sided curvature in the number 5 was "flickering". It was as if the last column of illumination dots to the number were struggling to stay on. I was nearly home so I was not in a position to see if the same would occur with gear # 8, but it seemed like the same would happen as well to the bottom right edge curvature of the number 3 (but not the top right curvature of the # 3).

Have others experienced this? Does it portend bad things for my display in the future? Could it be something electrical or computer that will resolve itself? I will be looking closely on my drive in to work this AM. TIA

I also noticed this one time on my 22 HTC a few months ago on a drive. It only happened the one time and was gone the very next time I started the car. Hasn't happened again since (and I do watch for it now).

Driving the half-hour each way yesterday I found it inconsistent and relatively unpredictable as to when (ie, how long after I started driving, achieving and staying in a particular gear, if I changed drive mode from My Mode to Weather) and how bad it would occur. The flickering seemed worse with the bottom right-sided curve of gear 8 than what would occur with the same display area of gears 3 or 5.

I noticed the same in mine the other day. It was flickering only on the lower right corner of the number 8. No other number flickered. It only happened once and has done it since.

My February build also had the issue. Trans replaced with a Tornado Trans.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but does anybody else have trouble with automatic downshifting from higher gears? I've noticed a bunch of times that I'll be in 7th or 8th gear and when I stomp on the gas nothing happens (except for slight increase in speed, of course). No downshift at all. This happens in normal mode or Z mode. Yesterday I was on the expressway doing 70 in 8th gear and tried to pass somebody fairly quickly. No downshift. So I watched the RPM once I manually downshifted to get around him. Under 2000 RPM in 7th or 8th gear there was no automatic downshift. Is this normal? Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Depends you how your normal, mymode, Z mode are setup.
Try shifting to Sport and see what happens.

I have mine set to aggressive shifting (track settings) in Z mode. I don't see this happen much, nor does it see 7th or 8th gear much either when in track setting.
If you pull the downshift paddle and HOLD IT while hitting the gas, the DCT will command the lowest gear possible btw.
