Greetings everyone. I'm new to corvette ownership and to this forum. I apologize for the length post but I'm at my wits end with my new corvette and am desperately looking for any direction / commiseration I can get.

I took delivery of my first ever corvette (23 stingray) from MacMulkin about 6 weeks ago. Everything was fine until about 800 miles when I went to drive home from dinner. I started my corvette and the CEL started flashing and the Traction Control Light came on. OnStar sent me a text to service my Transmission, but the error code read Random Cylinder Misfires. Stopping and restarting (with a few minutes in-between) did nothing to help, and I limped it home with a very rough idle and an angry engine. My air intake fans were running even after shutting the car off.

When I went to take it to the dealer (1st visit) the next morning, the car drove fine. The CEL light was on but not flashing, and the Traction Control Light was gone. The dealer spent the next day driving it, and unsuccessfully trying to replicate the incident. Essentially nothing was done to the Corvette and it was chalked up as a random one time electronic gremlin.

When I got it back, it drove fine for a few days and then it happened again. Identical scenario - Went to start it and was met with a flashing CEL, Traction Control Light, and Misfire Codes. Again, I could not fix with several timed restarts and limped it home with an angry engine. By the time I drove it back to the dealer the next day (2nd visit), the issue was gone and the car drove fine and only had a non flashing CEL. Once again, the dealer couldn't reproduce the issue despite keeping it for a few days to drive... but this time they decided to re-position some wires in the wiring harness.

A few days after pricing it up from the dealer, same issue happened to me again leaving Autozone. I brought it to the dealer for a 3rd time. They replaced the ECU and were confident that the issue is resolved

The car drove fine for two weeks and I really started to believe that with the new ECU, it was all behind me. Then, on a road trip to the Back of the Dragon of all places, it did the same thing when trying to leave the gift shop. Flashing CEL, Traction Control Light, and Misfire Codes. I limped it over to the hotel and let it sit overnight. The next morning it was fine, and I drove it home without any issues.

I love the car and my preference would be to keep it, but at this point i'm starting to wonder if I need to start a GM Buyback / Lemon Law type thing. Any advice is much appreciated.
I could be mistaken, but I believe I read a post on the forum similar to yours and it ended up being a faulty fuel injector. Maybe create your own thread (and not buried here in this thread) asking for input. Might be something to have your dealer look into as well.

@thelizardking There also have been members who had CELs and transmission issues that were cured by a transmission flush and reprogram. Perhaps something like that will help. Sorry to read about your troubles, I hope you get a quick resolution.

@Dave O thanks - that thread seems pretty relatable to my situation. Will share with my certified dealer... hopefully fuel injectors aren't still as difficult to come by.

@WishfulThinker23 interesting recommendation on the transmission flush. i'm a fellow NE Ohioian (Cleveland)... so you can imagine the disappointment of receiving my C8 in early October, only to have the last few driving weeks of the season eaten away by misfires and dealer repairs. On the bright side, the winter season will hopefully provide enough of a time cushion for me to have a new or repaired c8 in time for spring.

@thelizardking I can only imagine the frustration! These sunny days would be nice for cruising. I am in Lorain County but work in the southern Cleveland suburbs. I am expecting delivery in Jan or Feb so I won't be driving much until spring, but I do plan to drive year-round.

I don't know how you go about obtaining error codes, but if you can post them on here someone may have experience with them. There is a great deal of knowledge on this forum and many helpful members.

If you can take video of what is happening and show that to the dealer.

Could it be bad gas? I had to get fuel at a shell station in cocoa Beach that was crusty/old and my vehicle drove like absolute ****, misfires, etc for at least half a tank. Probably contaminated fuel. Always get "top tier" 93 octane gas, but try to use NEW stations if you can. You know, the ones that don't give you a 50% sea water mix.

We had a similar result with the Shell station on Cocoa's stirp nearer Canaveral - it was with our Mazda but the gas was definitely a problem.

I suppose it could be bad gas - I always use Premium but have not been that selective about where I buy it - however the misfires have happened across multiple tanks of gas now so it wouldn't be my first guess.

New C8 with front lift. After two weeks, when activated the pump roars and vibrates. GM changed vendors for this part and they say “ they all do it”. Terrible design on a car of this caliber. It should not have a defect like that. It’s unacceptable!!! My 2022 and 2021 did not make that noise. And as mentioned, this vehicle started doing it after two weeks! Not happy!

Default Instrument Display goes Dark

2022 C8 HTC. Drove the car and everything is fine. Stopped for dinner. Started the car...no instrument display. Side screen worked fine. Shut down and restarted..still black. Drove home without instruments. Shut it down. Came back out about 15 minutes and tried a restart. Instruments came on just fine. Anyone else have this issue?

I posted this over in the General Discussion first and it appears a few others have had the same thing....all 2022 HTCs for some reason.

These things are called "Gremlins", and all exotics have them. My Lambo had tons of them, and my Ferrari did to.
Normally any type of reboot fixes.

2022 Coupe Z51 late April build. Be had this on and off again since the car was delivered. It’s definitely unsettling when you have a blank dash. Many discussions with GM techs with no resolution. Can’t reproduce it and have been unable to get to the dealer while it was happening. Then again even if I did, I have zero belief that the dealer near me, *** Chevy in Fl., would have any idea how to fix it, they are clueless with most C8 issues.

I've posted this a few times before but worth another post.

If this happens again, try this to erase the car/computer cache. Start the car. Shut the car off. Then open the drivers side door for 90 seconds (and you have to have it open for no less than 90 seconds). Close door, start the car and the computer cache has now been reset. Watch the video using the link below at the 1:44:46 mark.

What this does is to clear out the computers cache and hopefully correct the problem.

I've seen this on my Audi but only on the auxilliary nav screen. Never on the main instrument panel.

2022 HTC. This happened to me on delivery. Dealer started up the car in the showroom and everything was fine. Started it a second time to move it out of the showroom and the display was dead. Solution was to bring it to the service department and "reset" (disconnect the battery, etc.). While I've had other issues, this one hasn't happened again in 6k+ miles.

Actually I may have accidently did this without knowing. I had opened my drivers side door so the passenger side would unlock for my wife to get in. I then proceeded to place some groceries in the frunk, and putting the cart back would have put it over the 90 seconds. That cache clear may have caused the blank dash because thats when it happened.

Just curious: is this happening randomly, or does it tend to happen in proximity to opening/closing the top?
