Center Caps
Stock center caps loosely fit into the Aerolarri wheels, so I stuck 3M double sided tapes around the "prongs" and they fit nice and tight.
Not a very good view but you get the picture
I think they turned out great! You could modify centercaps if you wanted it black.
Review
The Company
Chet has been awesome to deal with. He responds quickly to email/text and resolves issues quickly. When someone else's wheels were delivered to my house, he took care of it right away.
Fitment
I think he nailed it as far as the wheel specs. I have absolutely no rubbing. The rear fits perfectly flush with the quarter panel. The front could be a little more flush but I'm sure that would introduce other issues.
Color & Finish
The color is exactly as I hoped. It's almost like a black chrome but a little lighter. I've had a few black wheels in the past and the design of the wheels are typically lost in pictures. This is not the case with black ghost glazed polish. The color in the pictures are actually a little lighter in appearance than in reality. I will say, when I looked closely at one of the wheels, I noticed one or two areas where it might be slightly darker/lighter shade than the rest of the wheel. That might have to do with the fact that the wheels are hand polished. Not a big deal in my opinion but I can see where it might bother others.
19"/20" vs 20"/21"
I think the 20" wheel up front is just the right size. The 21" rear looks ever so slightly too large at certain angles but I think it's still better than the 20" which I think is too small. That's just my opinion and would depend a lot on wheel style. As for ride quality, I can't say I detect much difference between stock vs Aerolarri. The Aerolarris might be ever so slightly harsher? Hard to say.
Mounting & Balancing
So I took my wheels to a TireRack recommended installer with great reviews to have the wheels road force balanced. When I picked up the wheels, they said they could balance all four wheels but could not road force balance three of four wheels. Not exactly sure what that means but they said that I might not be able to tell on the road, so I put the wheels on and went for a little trip at varying speeds and I have to say I couldn't detect anything wrong. I have to say I'm a little skeptical about whether person knew what they were doing considering it took them hours to get the wheels on and, in the process, nicked one of the wheels (that's another thread). I could take it somewhere else to get it road force balanced but I don't have a need at this point
Final Opinion
I think the wheels are great! The company is great. The owner is great! The price is great! And thanks the the wheels, now the C8 looks great!
