When I got my C8 and drove back 75 miles from Atlantic City to Phila, I was disappointed and concerned about the sluggish feel and acceleration. I could not phantom how others "raved" about how the C8 drove.
Having a Pedal Commander from my C7, I installed it in the C8, and presto, there was now acceleration and jump to my car and I was smiling and most of all felt relief that I didn't spend $90k on something that I wasn't going to be happy with...
After 1 yr the PC started to pop a code which lead me to the Soler...
Same jump, same acceleration.
Still smiling...
Its much more than pressing your foot down harder etc...
Put it this way, you have everything to gain and nothing to lose, because if you buy one, you can return it for a refund.
This is not internet chirping or BS...
Its real...
The difference is day and night on how your car will accelerate, shift and feel.
Its not notchy, not jumpy, you're not gonna spin out at a slight press of the gas pedal.
Its quick acceleration with the pedal. No slugging, no rearing back and then forward etc.
It goes as you want it to go, where as without it, its kind of like you're waiting for the rpms to kick in....
If you go back through the posts in this thread over time it is abundantly clear that there are three groups of people posting:
1) Those who haven't tried the product (which everyone will admit does NOT increase horsepower) and are convinced that its' popularity is all placebo effect. The "enjoy the koolaid" crowd.
2) Those who have installed the product on their C8 and can't believe the difference. They now will not turn it back to OEM setting.
3) Those who started in the 1st category and then moved to the second.
Haters gonna hate - nothing but actual experience will convince those who "know better" that this is a great product.
You omitted one category. Those that tried it and were not impressed. 👍
Our products don't void any manufacturer warranties so there should be no concern there. If you want to be extra precautious, you can keep your OEM part in case you take it to a shop and it has an engine problem you can put that back in and they won't be able to trace anything back to the TB. We understand a lot of our customers are very cautious with the warranties though, but if you choose to install our Throttle Body before the warranty is up, it won't void anything!
This is what I was wondering about. With so many DCT problems I am concerned. Maybe I’m just a worry wort. 😊
"gadget" is perhaps too strong of a characterization.
Think of it more like a tool that less-competent drivers can use to remap the C8 throttle response to something they are used to,
That's a pretty arrogant opinion, given that virtually everyone who tries it loves it. I guess you're one of the few competent Corvette drivers, and all the rest of us are nincompoops. Or maybe the 99% of us that love it know something you don't.
Can someone post a great soler setting ? Just ordered
My impression is sport 4 or 5 is most common. I personally am at sport 3. A few others prefer 6 or 7. Id start with 4 or 5 and then adjust from there to your liking.
