I would have Saturday, but was busy instructing a student in C7ZR1 and another in MP4-12C along with running my goal of low 30s in my car. Took the Mclaren out in the last session since I did a 33 in mine and didn’t want to push my luck driving back to DFW for final autocross event Sunday, hit 165 down the back straight at 8k rpm in 5th before deploying the air brake which was a rush. Saw Adam posted a video of 2:20, congrats!

Oh damn you had a day of it, but that's good that you were still able to hit your goal. Thanks! We really wanted a 2:19 but definitely happy with the 2:20. Set up was the same as last time when we ran a 2:23, tires even had an additional 200 street miles on them. If the rain held off we were going to throw stickers on but it didn't so we packed up. I'm still working with Bilstein on the coilover kit.

Would love to see that combination - let us know when you do that!

I'm still working with Bilstein on the coilover kit.
I'm sure this is an anxious await - should be awesome when you guys finalize something

I think next test will be Jan 30/31. Should have the coilovers ready just working on valving. I’m wanting a 2:17/2:18 next time out.

Customer wasn't feeling well so he didn't come out. Best time for that car in its old form was 2:15.7, Adam is thinking 2:12/2:13 in new form but that's solely based on power increase, not including the switch to coilover and small weight reduction. Might be testing end of January and Mike will likely be game to bring the C7, I'll for sure post a thread if we do. There's more time in the C8 as it sits.

Old form wasn't stock either....... so 2.15.7 vs 2.19 is impressive.....

keep on pushing , we keep reading and dreaming
My car was finally delivered to Rick Hendricks as one of the very last one 2020.... cut off one day earlier and mine would be a 2021 🥱

Covid19 prevents me from coming over so, here I sit in Norway and freeze my assoff, dreaming.....
Cicio Performance is just down the road and I guess I might as well get her over there for brake, wheel exhaust, splitter and side skirt, have high wing.
Then PPF film and ceramic coating.
Hoping for uplift of travel ban in time for Sebring , go watch my friend Jan fight against his son Kevin . both in LMP cars but Jan in WEC and Kevin in IMSA....
2020 maybe the worst shitty year in my life if I deduct some teenager years I quite cant remember everything 🙈🤣

Merry Christmas Dane, say hi to Lou from me.. ⛄️

Nice! Sucks that you can't come pick it up. I've been wanting to go to a WEC race for years but always seem to be super busy, that'd be fun.

Merry Christmas to you as well, will do!

Great pics, car looks awesome at speed, can tell the tires are wide, and the aero looks real cool, the C8 sits nice as it is

We had to ignore the C8 for the first part of the year and focus on customer cars for TX2K. After that sales volume was so high I didn't have time to work on them. Finally nailed down valving 2+ months ago, build time was 8-12 weeks, then came component delays and now we're here! Should have them in a week, Bilstein finally received the components they were missing.

We did COTA after dark a couple weeks ago, the normal photographer wasn't there so I only have one picture, but we did validate a small fix on the monoball control arm bushings.

Next test at COTA won't be till October, we will have the coilovers and potentially a few aero bits. Sometime before then we're going to shake down Mike's C7Z at MSR so we may bring the C8 out there to do a bit of dialing, but the main focus will be Mike's car.

Well.... the coilovers were great for a whopping two sessions. Then a magnetic ride simulator melted limiting us to 83 mph and prematurely ending the weekend. Out of the box it was much better than stock, low speed nervousness was totally gone, dialed out very mild turn in oversteer and have some spring rate changes planned. We'll test at a local track to continue dialing before making another benchmark run in October.

Thanks for the updates.

What a bummer. I know the mag ride side has heat wrap on them already but runs under the engine brace closer to the headers. I have KW simulators that mount up on the top of the strut tower. They actually changed color from my last track weekend. Maybe I should wrap them up too for the long run. That’s what I’m working right now. More heat wrap coming today for anything I deem.

So we should have brought spares, I meant to, but it was 3am and I forgot. We just plugged C7 sims in, test drove on the street and thought we were good to go. Apparently the C8 sends a lot more signal than the C8 and overheats the sims. I'm not sure if it was engine bay heat or the fact that we reflect a gold wrapped them 2nd session and that kept heat in the sim itself instead of allowing it to dissipate.

To give people some idea of how much faster the LG car is compared to stock, I drove my C8 at COTA on the 100° day last October. My best time was 2:50 or 25 seconds slower. My set up was all stock except for high temp brake fluid and 15W-50 Mobile 1 oil. No change to suspension and stock Z51 tires.

Now, I am probably just an average amateur driver (maybe slightly better in my mind) ....But I make a lot of mistakes such as I brake too early, not braking hard enough, hitting the apex too fast, and generally not driving the best line. So maybe with more experience or a better driver could cut my car's time down down to ~2:35 seconds with my set up. So with the mods to get this car under 2:20 is huge.

Great weekend at COTA this past weekend. Coilovers are 85% dialed in, just need to do a little more adjusting for the transition from turn 5 to turn 6. 20mph winds killed any chances of setting a new best time but the car is definitely better. I'll post some video/pictures in the next couple days.
