Please help our cause!
Went to Cabela's on Sunday afternoon and they are completely sold out of any decent bulk .22 long rifle ammo, and only have a little bit of .22 long rifle left.

Needless to say the days of buying .223 ammo and ammo for an AK-47in bulk, in the local gun stores, are long gone!
I've been buying from Sportsmansguide for some time now. They have a good supply of 22LR for shipment in late February and mid-April.
I have orders in that ship throughout the year. Some of the shipments are estimated for 2014. Once you get in a ordering rotation you can stay pretty fluid. The ship dates they give are usually farther out than the actual arrival date. It saves me the hassle of driving or calling around.

The LZ Walmart sold over $20k in ammo from Friday night to Saturday about noon. Shelves at 4 local Walmarts were empty. Ended up at GAT's for the 9mm for the wifey's gun.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Same is holding true on fire arms. The dealer I went to had 17 guns arrive on Friday and sold 14 by Saturday afternoon.
Stuff is getting scarce, people are spooked. The gun legislation being proposed is having the opposite effect. The threat of it is putting MORE guns on the street! When will the knuckle heads wake up and realize
they are making things worse for themselves?
They had five Beretta PX4 Compacts there Sat morning. When I got there, there were only 2. Only one when I left
The guy next to me at the gun counter was looking for a specific pistol in a specific calibre. They didn't have one, so he pointed to two Springfield pistols and said he'll take those!
How stupid of Rahm to encourage the dumping of shares of gunmaker's stock! Could he be sued for fiduciary stupidity? Especially when Illinois needs money?
I guess he'll just get the money from us later...

Guns and gay marriage are at the top of the agenda in Springfield when the legislature comes back next month.
You might think concealed carry is the last thing Democrats would want given their push for an assault weapons ban and a ten bullet limit on magazine clips.
But now that the courts have ruled against the state's concealed carry law, Illinois Senate President John Cullerton says they need to approve concealed carry quickly to prevent violence, "If we don't pass a law, it'll be the wild west! Then people can just walk down the street without any limitation. So, we have the obligation to pass a bill. The NRA would be happy if we passed nothing."
Also at the City Club, Cullerton said the state Senate will move quickly soon to pass gay marriage, which the Democrats now call marriage equality.
NRA ally Debbie Halvorson could win Jesse Jackson Jr.’s Chicago seat
http://www.politico.com/story/2013/0...eat-86772.html
A white ex-congresswoman with an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association is the front-runner to replace former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. in a majority-black Chicagoland district with inner-city neighborhoods wracked by gun violence.
At first glance, Debbie Halvorson should have no business winning the Feb. 26 special election. The former Democratic congresswoman was crushed by Jackson in a primary last year. She’s a white Democrat seeking to represent a district in which 54 percent of voters are African-American.
And she’s an unapologetic Second Amendment backer — with endorsements from the NRA in two of her previous congressional campaigns — despite an outpouring of concern among voters and her campaign rivals about gun violence.
Yet there’s reason to think Halvorson could eke out a win. She is a known entity in much of the district thanks to her time in Congress and earlier rise to state Senate majority leader — the first woman to hold the post. Sixteen other candidates are vying for the Democratic nod, and all of her formidable competitors are African-American. That creates a possibility that the black vote will splinter, opening a path for Halvorson.
She enjoys a narrow but critical base of support in the suburban and rural parts of the sprawling district, which stretches from the South Side of Chicago to rural Kankakee County about 50 miles to the south. The former congresswoman doesn’t need to win a majority: The crowded Democratic field means it could take as little as 20 percent of the vote to clinch the Democratic nomination, which is tantamount to winning the seat given the district’s liberal makeup.
Halvorson received 29 percent against Jackson last year.
Now, black leaders — concerned about Halvorson’s position atop polls — say they’re prepared to make gun control the central issue in the contest. The goal is to paint her as an NRA ally who’s too conservative for the seat and insensitive to Chicago’s rising tide of gun violence.
“The NRA gives Debbie Halvorson an ‘A’ rating,” said Michael Pfleger, a Roman Catholic priest and gun control activist in Chicago who is supporting one of Halvorson’s opponents. “That tells me she should not be the representative from the 2nd District. If she gets an ‘A’ rating from the NRA, she gets an ‘F’ from me.”
Though she has described herself as a conservative Democrat, Halvorson voted with her party more than 90 percent of the time in Congress. She backed a cap-and-trade bill as well as President Barack Obama’s health care and economic stimulus measures. The onetime cosmetics saleswoman is pitching herself to voters as an experienced hand who can hit the ground running in Washington after Jackson’s long-running troubles that ended with his resignation in November.
But it’s her stance on guns that’s drawing the most attention.
Though her primary rivals haven’t attacked Halvorson head on — in a 17-way primary, they have to focus on promoting themselves — the campaign’s heavy focus on guns is seen at least in part as a way to draw a contrast with the front-runner.

A lot went on last week, here is the ISRA’s viewpoint on what happened.
FEINSTEIN
Last week’s most notable event was the introduction of Sen. Diane Feinstein’s “assault weapon” ban. As expected, the bill lists over 150 firearms that would be banned with the list including every firearm that even remotely looks like an AK-47 or an AR 15 or an FAL. Other provisions under the bill ban additional firearms based on certain design features. The bottom line is that the Feinstein bill would ban just about every semiautomatic rifle, pistol and shotgun in existence today.
Supporters of the Feinstein ban have described it as a “good first step.” We anticipate that the “next step” would be a resurrection of the “sniper rifle” ban and performance-based bans on rifle and handgun ammunition. If enacted, all centerfire rifles and handguns would be banned along with the ammunition they fire. This is something that the so-called “hunters” who support Obama’s gun control plan should ponder carefully.
ILLLINOIS SENATORS
As expected, both of Illinois’ U.S. Senators were quick to jump on the Obama/Feinstein gun-grabbing bandwagon. Sen. Mark Kirk is reported to be working with antigun senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) on a bill to crack down on so-called “gun trafficking.” Not much about the bill has been released but you can bet that it will do more to infringe on your 2nd Amendment rights than it will do to curtail criminal use of firearms. As we all know, gun control offers zero upsides for lawful firearm owners.
It should be no surprise that Sen. Dick Durbin has joined Feinstein to lead the charge to take your guns away from you. Although Durbin is now a co-sponsor of the Feinstein gun grab, he does not feel that Feinstein’s ban goes far enough. In a recent media interview, Durbin complained that Feinstein’s 10-round magazine limit is overly generous.
AND SPEAKING OF MAGAZINE LIMITS
Apparently, the New York legislature agrees with Dick Durbin that 10-round magazines are overly generous. Thus, they recently passed a law banning magazines greater than 7 rounds and the firearms that accept them. The most obvious impact of this law is that it would effectively ban the M-1 Garand (8-round en bloc clip) and the 1911 pistol (7+1). The enemy is clever, and the slope gets slipperier and slipperier all the time.
GUN OWNERS SUPPORT GUN CONTROL
Gun grabbers have been claiming recently that up to 85% of gun owners support Obama’s gun control program, to include the blanket ban on semiautomatic firearms. Despite those seemingly large numbers, the ISRA has not received a single letter, or phone call, or office visit from any of our members asking us to support the Obama gun control package. So, just who the heck are these gun owners who supposedly support Obama’s gun grab? Why haven’t they come forward demanding that the ISRA lend Obama support? Maybe because they don’t exist?
RAHM EMANUEL ENDANGERS OUR SOLDIERS
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has shifted tactics to employ the financial markets to choke the life out of firearm manufacturers. Apparently his zealous efforts to take your guns have blinded him to the fact that the nation’s gun makers are the primary suppliers of firearms and spare parts for our armed forces. Running gun makers out of business will leave our soldiers without the spare parts they need to fight our enemies. But then again, Emanuel has a different set of enemies than do most Americans.
HECKLING AND THE FIRST AMENDMENT
Just over a week ago, firearm owners turned out in droves at a gun control recruiting drive meeting in Glenview, IL. So many gun rights supporters showed up for the meeting that the fire department finally cut off admittance to the event. As expected, the gun controllers who organized the meeting addressed the crowd with some very inflammatory remarks about gun owners. In turn, the gun rights supporters in the audience took issue with what was being said on stage. The mainstream press painted the gun rights supporters as ill mannered buffoons while making no mention of the hate speech being uttered by the event organizers. The editor of an on-line tattletale political blog even went as far as to accuse firearm owners in the audience of denying the organizers their First Amendment rights. The bottom line is that anyone who invokes their First Amendment rights to call another person a **** had better be prepared to have that person invoke their own First Amendment rights and respond. The gun controllers have to understand that we will challenge them whenever and wherever they attack the 2nd Amendment.
ATTACKS ON YOUR RIGHTS TO RENEW ON JANUARY 29TH
Illinois legislators will begin their annual attack on your right to keep and bear arms on January 29th. Keep an eye on your email for special alerts from the ISRA that will provide detailed instructions on what the ISRA needs for you to do to preserve and protect your rights.

Second, as I have just purchased my first firearms due to everything going on, I also joined the NRA and the ISRA. I think even if you don't own or plan on owning a firearm, you should at least support the groups who are trying to protect our freedoms. I am proud to now be included with those who will not stand for this tyranny.

Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy says he was encouraged after meeting with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in Washington.
McCarthy and other law enforcement officials were in Washington earlier this week to discuss gun control and gun violence. The superintendent told reporters Tuesday that he left Monday's meeting convinced the president is committed to gun control.
The police chiefs of Aurora, Colo., and Newtown, Conn., also were at the meeting. Both cities have recently had deadly mass shootings.
McCarthy also says the recent flurry of homicides in Chicago has not made him doubt the strategies he has implemented in Chicago to combat gangs and gun violence. He says many other police chiefs have reported increases in homicide rates.
