My plan is to try to come up with a way to move my retirement up to about 10 years from now and move to either Montana, Wyoming or Idaho.

SPECIAL ALERT - NEW LOCATION FOR RALLY: GLENVIEW

GUN CONTROLLERS PLAN RECRUITMENT AND ORGANIZATION RALLY

The ISRA has been notified that the location of this event has been moved due to "anticipated larger attendance". The new location is the Glenview Police Station, 2500 East Lake Avenue, Glenview, IL 60026.

The gun control movement is on a roll in the northern suburbs. They will be holding a rally to recruit and organize new gun grabbers into their campaign to take your guns away from you.

IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS ATTEND THIS RALLY!

As a patriotic firearm owner, you have a responsibly to defend our Constitution by challenging those who would tear down our Bill of Rights. If the gun controllers are left unchallenged, then they and their friends in Springfield will walk all over YOUR constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

EVENT DETAILS

WHEN: Sunday, January 20, 2013, 2:00 PM

WHERE: Glenview Police Station, 2500 East Lake Avenue, Glenview, IL
(was: Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette, IL)

WHO: This event is being hosted by a band of gun controllers including Mark Walsh of the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence; Lee Goodman of Stop Concealed Carry Coalition and; Jennifer Bishop of the Million Mom March. These people are the real deal - the hard core top dogs of the gun control movement. These are the people leading the charge to raid your gun safe and confiscate and destroy your guns. These are the people who want to prevent you from carrying defensive firearms. These are the people who don't care if you or your family members are raped, robbed and murdered by violent criminals. They only care about one thing - disarming you.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRO-GUN PEOPLE

1. Plan to be at the Glenview Police Station between 1:00 and 1:30 so that you can get a seat. At past events like these, the anti-gunners try to play a game claiming that the room is "full" so as to deny entry to pro-gun people. Our aim is to ensure that there are more of OUR people there than THEIR people.

2. Be observant of abuses of your First Amendment rights by village officials. Get the name and title of any official who attempts to suppress your right of free association, assembly and speech.

3. If you have an I-GOLD t-shirt, hat, or badge, wear it! If you have an ISRA hat or an NRA hat, wear it!

4. If you see members of the media there, don't wait for them to come to you. Rather, actively approach them, tell them you are a law-abiding firearm owner, and then tell them that you adamantly oppose punitive gun control laws being proposed by the organizers, Obama, and Emanuel. Make sure the media hears our side of the story first, and often!

5. Bring your children, grand children, and other young people with you. They are the next generation of patriots. Let them see how effective grassroots organizing works! If there is a question and answer session, have your children ask the organizers why they want to leave kids and their parents defenseless against criminals.

6. Be polite, but be assertive. Do not let the anti-gunners shout you down. Defend your 2nd Amendment with passion. If you have a smart phone, video as much of the proceedings as you can.

7. Remember, this is our Lexington, this is our Concord. Be prepared to teach the gun controllers a lesson in Liberty.

8. Please share this Alert with your friends and family - encourage them to show up at the rally.

9. Please post this Alert to any and all Internet blogs and bulletin boards to which you belong.

REMEMBER - YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PRESERVING YOUR FREEDOM - IF YOU DON'T DO IT, NOBODY ELSE WILL

I never understand that part about charging the kids. A kid under 18 can't buy a gun anyway, so they are just there because the parents are there.

Many parents don't want to pay for all the kids, so they don't bother to go. --> Loss of potential customer.

Instead of isolating the kids, they should be encouraging them. A 16 year old can vote in two years, and if you have isolated them, they will vote against you.

Really stupid move on the part of gun shows, gun enthusiasts, and gun groups.

It is something NCRS should learn - all kids under 20 should be free to NCRS events and allowed to sit in the seminars for free. Get their interest while they are young. They are your future, and if you turn them away, you will never get them back.

ALERT – BRIEF MONDAY MORNING UPDATE:
Here are some reminders and information for subscribers:

1. Keep in mind that the Illinois General Assembly goes back into session on January 29th. After that, it will be Katie bar the door when it comes to anti-gun bills being introduced. Please keep a careful watch on your email for alerts on legislative updates. We may need you to take action immediately to counter the trickery of the gun controllers in the legislature.

2. Gun shops and gun shows report very heavy traffic this weekend, in part due to Saturday being “Gun Appreciation Day” and the general mood of the nation.

3. Thanks go out to everyone who attended the gun control meeting in Glenview on Sunday. It was good to hear that gun-rights supporters’ numbers were so overwhelming that the fire department had to restrict admittance to the auditorium. So many gun rights supporters showed up so early that gun controllers got locked out of their own meeting! We have heard from a few people who had never been to such a meeting in the past. They were shocked at the level of disrespect for the U.S. Constitution displayed by the gun-controllers who organized the event. One attendee compared the hatred for American traditions spewed by the gun-controllers to the rhetoric he heard from Taliban prisoners he guarded in Afghanistan. Our people were shocked further by the unabashed lies and misconceptions about private firearm ownership that were pushed by the gun-controllers who spoke. The impression that one attendee took away from the meeting was that the gun-controllers hate law-abiding firearm owners more than they dislike the people who commit violent crimes. Again, thanks to everyone who turned out for the Glenview event. The gun controllers need to understand that preservation and protection of gun rights is not a joke to us and that we will challenge them every time they attempt to attack the constitution.

4. Please remember to distribute this information to your gun owning friends and post to all Internet bulletin boards and blogs to which you subscribe.

CHICAGO — Former Illinois Governor George Ryan is to be released to a halfway house in Chicago on January 30 after spending five years in federal prison for corruption, the Chicago Sun-Times reported on Saturday, citing unnamed sources.

Ryan, a Republican, was convicted in 2006 of racketeering, fraud and other offenses involving favoritism and kickbacks for state contracts and property leases. He was sentenced to 6-1/2 years in jail.

The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago affirmed the conviction and sentence last year, finding that Ryan failed to provide honest services to the people of Illinois who elected him, and that he violated this duty by giving state benefits to his friends.

Ryan, 78, has been jailed at a federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana, as inmate No. 16627-424, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. His formal release date is July 4.

The bureau does not release information about when offenders will go to halfway houses, spokeswoman Traci Billingsley said on Saturday.

Ryan's family and lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment.

Ryan's successor in office, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, in March surrendered at a Colorado prison to begin serving a 14-year sentence on corruption charges.

I guess using a gun on an intruder can have some negative repercussions.

http://www.news-press.com/article/20...nclick_check=1

A Venice man is facing several charges after allegedly going on a naked rampage inside a couple’s home in North Fort Myers Monday.

Gregory Matthew Bruni, 21, is facing charges of damage to property, burglary, battery and resisting an officer.

The victims told the Lee County Sheriff’s Office they were inside around 6:50 p.m. when they heard noises on the roof.

They went outside and saw a naked man, later identified as Bruni, on the roof, according to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report.

They said the man then jumped off the roof and onto one of the victims, knocking him down.

The man then ran into their home and pulled a 72-inch television off a living room wall, breaking it.

The victim told investigators he yelled for his wife to get a gun as Bruni continued to thrash around the house, knocking over a wet/dry vacuum and spilling its contents on the floor.

The wife fired three shots from a .38 caliber revolver at Bruni but missed and hit a wall.

Bruni then fell to the ground and began masturbating in the living room before he ran into the victims’ son’s bedroom and began rubbing his face with clothing, according to the report.

The male victim retrieved his shotgun from the master bedroom, but never fired at Bruni.

Deputies arrived on the scene and tried to detain Bruni, who started flailing around on the ground and speaking but not making sense.

Deputies said Bruni sucked up the water that had spilled from the vacuum and spit it out.

They said he tried to flee several times and had to be Tased as he was taken into custody.

Deputies later discovered Bruni defecated near the front door and in a hallway inside the residence.

He was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital for observation. Doctors advised deputies they couldn’t identify “what Bruni was on” and were conducting further tests, according to the report.

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - A big moving van was seen Wednesday outside the Chicago home of Jesse Jackson Jr.

The boxes inside the van were labeled "Jesse Jackson" and the movers were bringing stuff into the house.

There was no sign of Jackson himself or his wife Sandi, who recently resigned from the Chicago City Council.

Jackson Jr. had earlier resigned from Congress.
