Quinn’s gun maneuver sets stage for near-certain political defeat next week

SPRINGFIELD -- A new law will help the state crack down on drunk drivers. The Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device (BAIID), a breathalyzer used to start a car, will now come with a camera. It will leave no doubt who blew into the device. The BAIID system costs drivers $1,500 annually.

Quinn just wants to make me vomit he is such a flaming liberal, mindless, douchebag, loser.

Can you believe one of his proposed changes is that you can only carry in a publie establishement like a fast food store, or movie theater, or grocery store, etc., if there is a sign specifically stating you may carry here. Really, are you kidding?
What a FQKING loser.

I shot at the training range last week - really modern with digital target acquisition. I wished the rest of the range was done with these type of appointments.
Anyways close to done and a big step forward when compared to years past.

If they do it will be a great day for IL
. If they don't it will be a terrible day as our 2nd amendment rights continued to get trampled upon.

Does anyone know whether the amendatory vetos are all or nothing?
In other words, can the House and Senate go along with lets say 2 out of 7 of Quinn's proposed changes and overide the other 5 (for example), or do they have to overide or go along with all of them (or nothing)?
I know that I will not be the only one ANXIOUSLY awaiting the results of what takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, July 9th.

The ISRA is congratulating the Illinois General Assembly for overriding Governor Quinn's recent veto of concealed carry legislation. By overriding the veto, the general assembly is affirming that law-abiding Illinois citizens have a right to defend themselves with the most effective means available – the defensive firearm.
"Over the past several weeks, the good people of Illinois have had to endure political showmanship, political gamesmanship, and ultimately political brinkmanship," commented ISRA Executive Director Richard Pearson. "But, in the end, good sense won out over the gun control extremists and Illinois now has a framework in place to allow citizens to defend themselves."
"Of course this legislation is not perfect," continued Pearson. "Both sides had to engage in give and take to get where we are today. Over the coming months and years, we'll see what in the law works and what doesn't. We'll fine tune the concealed carry provisions when necessary with the goal of maintaining high permitting standards while ensuring that the right to self defense may be exercised freely when circumstances warrant."
The ISRA is the state's leading advocate of safe, lawful, and responsible firearms ownership. For more than a decade, the ISRA has represented the interests of millions of law-abiding Illinois firearm owners.

Staff Reports Claremore Progress
CLAREMORE —
The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office now offers fingerprinting for concealed weapon applicants on Tuesday evenings and every other weekend.
Slots during additional hours of operation are limited and should be made by appointment only, said Lt. Deputy Jerry Smittle.
Fingerprinting will continue to be offered from 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. Monday-Friday on a first-come, first- serve basis.
Additional hours provide an opportunity for concealed carry applicants to find the time to come in and have their fingerprints scanned.
“The addition is part of an effort to better serve the citizens of Rogers County,” said Sheriff Scott Walton.
Applicants must bring the completed application and provide a passport photo along with a payment of $25 for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations. Photo service is not available at the sheriff’s office.
Completed applications with photographs and fingerprints will be sent by RCSO employees to the OSBI. If an application is approved by the OSBI, a letter will be sent to the licensee’s home.
The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office does not issue licenses.
