Kind of a hassle with five nights of class but it does get done quick. They're also looking at two 8 hour days - Saturday and Sunday, but have not committed to anything yet on that schedule. They're already approved for training and are trying to see if they can move ahead with the training before all the forms and such are published. At least that way you'd have the classroom and range done. Might be worth a look at for some. Jeremiah at Semper is a really good guy to deal with.

Young guns sought: The S. I. Trap Shooting Team will offer an opportunity to young people from Southern Illinois whose schools do not offer a club or team.
The S.I. Trap Shooting Team will shoot Amateur Trapshooting Association-registered matches and is a member of the Southern Illinois Youth Sport Shooting Association; Academics, Integrity & Marksmanship; and the Scholastic Clay Target Program.
Young people under 18 and who have completed a firearm or hunter safety course are eligible. For more information, call Joyce Lawrence at 618-942-7092.
In Pinckneyville, there will be sign-up for Pinckneyville Shooting Sports at 7 p.m. Sept. 18 at Wright’s Inc., 1004 S. Main St. For more information, call

WOW, that sucks, Midwest Sporting Goods is a Gun Store I frequent quite a bit, and I know the gun employees there well, and came really close going shooting there last week (ended up at Article II in Lombard instead). One of the Co-owners at Midwest is a really nice guy and I hate to see this type of stuff.
Initially they are calling it an accidential shooting but don't know how it can be an accident with multiple shots to his neck and head.
Only time will tell exactly what happened I will be glued to this local tragic story.
