Checking your Browser???
i use aol ... and for last three days cf won't load ... goggle gets the five second delay and then loads, but aol is a no-go. checked aol browser settings ... nothing obvious.
anybody else w/ this issue?
any fixes?
thanks, jeff / cruzr6
I'd think people would rather put up with some short-term inconvenience while still being able to access CorvetteForum, rather than not access CorvetteForum at all while the site is actively under attack to purposely keep members away.
To rally against CorvetteForum, who is the victim in an online Internet attack against the infrastructure, is kinda misplaced.

Does this mean that the "liberal left" has found out about the active political discussions on the PR&C portion of the site, and trying to limit our freedom of speech??

No other site I go to - ANYWHERE has this. It's pretty clear your tech team or Cloudfare is scanning improperly or has some configs very wrong.
It's funny you are blaming us - the users, for IB's issues.
For those not in IT the target is the CF website. That is why you won't see it at other sites.
Unless the hackers target digital vettes and they have a redirect you won't see it.
JT the attack has been going on for several days now. I'm assuming the FBI is involved at this point. Is there an active case to track down the issue?

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
You'd only see this message on another site that is using Cloudflare AND has the active protection mode enabled because of an ACTIVE DDOS event. When the threat is gone, the active protection mode is disabled and you (or the viewers) don't see the message.
So unless you're visiting a website that is using Cloudlfare AND is actively going through a DDOS to trigger the protection, you won't see this.
Nowhere have I blamed users for this.
What I did say is that you are misplacing the fault and it appears to me you don't understand the issue.
You've continued to blame CorvetteForum and Internet Brands because you believe this is some sort of coding error or incompetence. You're either not understanding, listening, or you just want to blame CorvetteForum and Internet Brands. You're blaming CorvetteForum, Internet Brands, etc., for taking measures to keep the site online while under a DDOS event that is aimed to disrupt accessibility to the site.
Your blame should be on the anonymous party that has decided to target CorvetteForum to take the site offline - not CorvetteForum or Internet Brands for a 5 second delay message that is there as a protection to keep the site online rather than offline.

WOW! I hear the National Guard just joined in as well!!
This thread is regarding the Check Browser 5 second delay to explain why members are seeing this new message. It's also to allow members who have legitimate questions or reported issues (such as the AOL issue). Although the protection is provided by Cloudflare, so it's more on Cloudflare's side than ours, legitimate technical issues reported are useful to know.
The 5 second, periodic, delay is inconvenient and there is a few bugs that has been displayed as a result of the protection Cloudflare is providing. But if this wasn't enabled, this discussion may not exist because legitimate traffic wouldn't be able to reach CorvetteForum due to the DDOS attack.
This has stopped working due to the Cloudflare. Since I only perform a "read" about once a day to get all the messages in the C6 Z06 forum, I would expect Cloudflare's software to detect that I am not a malicious attacker trying to flood the servers with requests.
Anything that can be done to relax this would be appreciated. Note: Corvette forum pages broadcast RSS availability, so nothing sneaky going on here. Do a view-source and you will see "
Thanks a bunch.
so, is there a work-around procedure?
if not, why not?
thanks, jeff / ugi356.

That has been me in this case.
Thanks for the explanation J T
What could possibly be the goal to "attack" a car forum website?
Trying to get our personal info? Our emails so we can get bombarded with spam ads?
Or just trying to disrupt the site itself from people who just want to "F" up things...??
I'm trying to figure out just what the intent & purpose would be..
