You know, I've been following this since it started and think Mike, you're right. We're either too early, or there are too many Corvette drivers who don't hang out on this forum, or there are some that do hang out on this venue, but don't want their wives or girl friends to find out where they were on any given day and time.
I sure like the idea, it was great fun on the Ducati Forum, but if no one is going to respond, we seem like a bunch of birdwatchers spotting some rare species of orthanological bewilderment. At least we share it among ourselves - which is good - but perhaps we should consider simply hanging out at freeway rest stops as a group, with binoculars and a checklist.
Maybe a BBQ and....
Never mind
I don't know Phil...chatting with owls about who we saw might be more fun.
At least the owls respond with an occasional "Who?"
Went into Seattle today to do some pickups for the wife. Saw a C6 Yellow Coupe headed east on I90 about 10:15am between Bellevue and Issaquah, I waved, not sure if he saw me.
Wife and I took a trip down to Ft Lewis today. Saw 3 C5's and 1 C6. First C5 was headed northbound on I405 out of Renton in the S curves and was a Spiral Gray at about 8:20am. 2nd and 3rd C5s were almost back to back headed north on I5 toward Seattle near the Des Moines exit at about 8:40am. One was Orange and the other Red. The C6 looked to be LMB headed onto McCord as I was leaving around 12:30pm.
Whew, was out for about an hour today around the noon hour. What a gullywasher! Even with brand new GS2's, it was hydroplaning at anything over 55 MPH, I guess just as a result of a 3200 pound car and wide tires. It's clearly going to get worse as tread depth decreases. Good reason to get rid of these noisy, noisy tires!
Didn't see another Corvette either. I guess considering how hard it rained, I would have been pretty surprised to.
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS for me...never even wavers in water! Best purchase I made for my vette. Like them so much I just put them on our Lexus too!

Honestly, the GS2's aren't bad tires other than the pretty extreme noise, and considering how deeply the tire grooves are on the freeways and how deeply they fill with water, I'm not complaining (too much). In the dry, they feel progressive, don't squeal excessively, stick well, and seem to let go smoothly.
I saw a C6 from about half a block away today. Silver, with the Grand Sport hash marks on the right fender and black rims. It was pulling out of the Bridal Trails market onto Northbound 132nd as I was pulling in one entrance earlier, at about 4:30 p.m. today. This doesn't really count since I was at least a couple hundred feet away, so now nearly 600 miles and I've only been close enough to wave to the one Corvette on the first day!
Wave/wave back from a yellow Z06 at about 5:20 p.m. on Redmond Way as it transitions into Highway 202. Saw a CRM C6 on Redmond Way about an hour later with two guys in it. They just pulled even with me in the left turn lane as I started moving.
Cool! I've now seen three C6's while driving my C6!

I'm still keeping my out eye for you.....what color is your vette again?

It's a CRM base coupe with the 2011 wheels. Just got my plates and the four numbers are "0001". Well, that should be "I got my rear plate" because I haven't mounted a front plate yet, and trying to decide if I should run one. I did order the NCM mount, which probably isn't fully legal but if I get stopped, I can at least claim "I tried". That reminds me I need to look through this forum to see what others are doing with regards to a front plate.
saw this down off of lilly rd in Lacey, I DONT KNOW WHAT to say. if you look really close it looks like someone took a spounge to it with diff colors of greens.
Your going to see about 20 vettes tomorrow between Renton (southcenter area) and Kirkland (Lee Johnson Chevy) as we (CMCS) give some GI's in rehab from Ft Lewis rides & lunch. With the construction in Bellevue we will be taking a lot of side roads.
I spotted myself in Port Orchard at 11AM this morning. SUNSHINE!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!
What? No plate glass storefront windows in beautiful downtown Manchester in which to see your reflection? You had to drive all the way to Port Orchard? Come to think of it, I don't recall any big windows in Port Orchard either.
Well, at least somebody here acknowledges being "spotted". Maybe I'll take a drive down that way tomorrow and see if I can be spotted. Where is Port Orchard anyway? That's not that big Army/Air Force place out by Tacoma is it? Why would anyone have an orchard in a port anyway? Or a fort, for that matter?
I went motorcycle shopping today. Great weather for that sort of inane activity. I should have taken the Corvette, but even the coupe won't hold all my armor, way cool Italian leathers and a helmet large enough to protect my swollen head. Not to mention my carbon-fibre and titanium training-wheel set.
