On Corvette Clubs! There is the Hampton Club, which Bernie may have knowledge of, and there was a Newport News/Gloucester Club

The last President was a Gloucester resident, but they had few members. I believe they may have disbanded. They used to meet at Hutchins Cheverolet

Then there is also RPM (Ratpack Motor Sports, which includes folks on the Penninsula and on the Southside, but this is primarily a racing (high speed auto X) club.

There are two clubs in Richmond.

And, of course, there is the Beachcombers in Va Beach

Looking forward to meeting up with y'all

Anyone going to be at the Harley Davidson/Classic Cruiser's car show on Rt 17 Saturday? If so, look for me in my 76 and let's talk. I'll probably have my 29 Gazelle as well. Assuming good weather of course.

Peninsula VW Club is still meeting at Pop's this afternoon at 6PM, then heading for the cruise (also weather permitting). I'll be driving the 4x4 truck again (delivering parts to another member) ... STILL waiting on the title for the '01 (don't banks understand that Vettes are built to be DRIVEN, not sit in a garage for seven to 10 business days while paperwork is shuffled?

If you come by ... look for the tall, slim, tan, grayheaded fellow with the yellow C4 logo'd shirt .... should be easy to spot amongst all the bug owners

Didn't make it to the show Saturday. Used the day to fix an oil leak (at least I hope it's fixed). Will try next week.

PortDawg - Are you still in the AF and if so, are you stationed at Langley? I'm retired (2000) AF.

No, I retired in 2003. I was stationed at Scott last assignment. Spent most of my 22 years in Germany though.

Went to the Harley Davidson Classic Car Cruisers show on Rt 17 tonight. Met some nice vette owners and talked about starting a club. Everyone seemed interested. We also talked about having a get together at the Kiln Creek Park off of Victory Blvd in Kiln Creek (Hampton Roads, VA on the Peninsula). Thought a cruise in with a BBQ (everyone bring a dish and meat to cook) would be great to allow everyone to meet and greet. How many owners out there are interested in meeting? It would be open to any vette owner within driving distance. I'm looking at some Saturday or Sunday in Aug/Sep timeframe. If there is enough interest, I'll post this on a new thread. Let me know here or email me at villardk@gmail.com.

Hey Buzzardz_vette,
Met you there tonight, nice talking to fellow C3r... I had the Green '73. I gave you the wrong nick. That was the one I have on another site.. sorry about that. We talked about the get together.... and as I said we would be interested too... only weekend I have obligated is 8/20 right now for the Shriners show in Chesapeake...
That was the most vettes I've seen there in a while... maybe next time we should all try to get there the same time... be able to park together...

I like the idea of parking together. Maybe we can meet at the Walmart parking lot (Rt 17 and Victory Blvd) and drive in together. Say 6:30PM next week? Anyone else want to join us? I'm also out of town on 8/20 (Dad's b'day) and 8/27 (Carlisle). Maybe Labor day weekend?

I'd love to join in as well .... HD/CCC cruise-in is 85 and back only .... would be good if us C4-C6 owners could join in as well. They let the '87 slide in but the '01 is a bit obvious

Turns out I'm scheduled to take our BSA Venture Crew canoeing Friday and Saturday. So I'm not available for the next three weeks, but I'll see you when I can make it again. Let me know about Labor Day. Also any other weekends in Sep.
