SonnyinVA needs our prayers
Sgt. Brian Ricardo, a Virginia Beach police spokesman, said that incident occurred about 2:10 a.m. today at 24th Street and Pacific Avenue.
The victim, whose name was not being released, suffered life-threatening head injuries, Ricardo said. The man remained hospitalized.
The victim was in the median, attempting to cross the street, when he was struck by a car that did not even slow down after the impact, Ricardo said. Instead, it continued northbound on Pacific Avenue.
Ricardo said the only description of the vehicle, possibly a newer-model, silver Mercury Cougar, came from a police officer who happened to be nearby. But the officer focused his attention on aiding the badly injured man rather than trying to pursue the vehicle.
Police believe the car may bear evidence of the impact in the form of damage to its front end. Investigators were able to collect some debris believed to be from that vehicle at the scene.
Anyone with information about the vehicles in either incident or the whereabouts of the drivers is asked to call Crime Line or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (562-5887).

He has a skull fracture on the left side with swelling of the brain. I'm sure Sonny will pull through. I will post anything else as I hear back from Lisa. Keep praying for Sonny people. Scott
