Pay close attention to the tabs on the U-shaped contact inside the housing during reassembly, it must align with the slots in the housing.

Also pay attention to the clearance between the tabs on the U-shaped contact at the back as it is hot 12vdc and if it contacts the housing it will short it out. Only about 1/32" clearance. I have no idea what it does.
