REAL IPOD Interface for C6!!!
Great Work! Thanks for testing this out and reporting for all of us. Keep us posted on any progress you make. If they can at least get the passive mode working and shutting down properly it's a good start and easier install than the other aux in solution.

If you don't have XM, then where does it hook up to? Without XM would you have to get behind the head unit?
For now I just picked up a Monster IcarPlay Wireless Plus for Ipod from Radio Shack. It works great on my 2005. It charges the Ipod while plugged in, can transmit on any FM station. And when tucked in the center console the reception is fine and the audio quality is very good.
Does not sound very good on my 85 though, lots of hiss and static especially if you bump or reposition the transmitter portion. But that I think is due to the antenna being rather poor and way in back of the car, and the stock factory head unit in the 85 is perhaps partly to blame as well. On my 2001 Monte Carlo it works perfectly as well.
If they figure out the bugs on the X2I and it ends up working via the nav screen for sure they should be able to sell a ton of them and I would get one. Then I would just use the Monster device on the older vette and daily driver.
If the X2i can't be controlled from the factory system but only via the Ipod I think the price is rather high and an FM solution such as the Monster ICarPlay will work fine for most people. And at around $80 the Monster device is portable and therefore more of a value as you could use it on multiple vehicles.
I know in principle the wired solution should result in better sound, but I am telling you the Monster deal sounds very, very good.

I look forward to the day when we hear they got the x2i working. And I can't wait to see some posts of images of the nav system screen as it controls the Ipod.
I am a bit skeptical however. Nobody else has found a way to hack hack into the navigation system so I wonder how this company can produce a product which will integrate with the nav system and provide a menu driven system for selecting songs on the Ipod.
Without help from GM and inside knowledge of the software being used in the Navigation system, I find it hard to believe you will have an interface which will mirror the Ipod menu system.

On my C5 I had a hard wired FM modulater installed for about $200. It worked pretty well oher than the volume spike I would get when I switched off the devise. All it did was play my MP3 through an FM channel. There were not "iPod Controls" through the head unit.
This Nucleus unit is the first unit that has come along that might promise a simple plug and play solution.
Perhaps this works great because I am in flyover land. I am sure if I drove from Minnesota to Bowling Green at some point perhaps I would find a conflicting station and need to change. At least this device you can choose almost any FM frequency (for some reason two are not available for use.) It also has three buttons so you can program/save three different frequencies in memory.
I hate when companies release a product without proper testing....

When I spoke to the guys at Neucleus, they were amazingly cool and knowledgable.
They are willing to actually pay for the use of a C6 for 48hrs in actual $$$ or a free interface and iPod. Even a rental car if needed.
One volunteer and we're all set!!!
Anyone in the Los Angeles area with a C6 with Bose and NAV...

So one of you guys just needs to drive down there and let them try it out.

They claim that if they force it to full mode, it appears to work ok.
They just need a car to test it on to work out the firmware bug.
"2005-2006 Corvette w/Bose ('Manual' iPOD mode function only)"
Doesn't look like you can use the HU to control it. Looks like you have to still use the iPod itself to control accoring to that statement...

takes some getting used to due to the lack of button labels.. you
have to know where to go next.

I received my Neucleus NC-X2i: For the 6CD XM, no NAV…easy install (plugs into XM receiver which is over the right rear wheel well just under the Carpet for a coupe, I believe it is between the seat for a vert). The products looks great….I say looks because it turns out my replacement radio (fixed under a recall) is also broken!!!!! The C6 has been in storage since the radio was replaced. Did not know it was not working...oh well
OFF TO THE DEALER!!!
I will post an update after the dealer fix….
It's the XM-mod box that you have to yank out.the plug faces forward..
