REAL IPOD Interface for C6!!!
takes some getting used to due to the lack of button labels.. you
have to know where to go next.

touchscreen NAV w/ XM and CD changer and it works with a few
minor flaws. Don't know if the NAV is different for 06. I haven't heard
of anyone else giving the X2i a try - either 05 or 06

The problems that people are having with the ipod kit are with the 06.
But its good to know that the 05 does, indeed, work.

They are willing to actually pay for the use of a C6 for 48hrs in actual $$$ or a free interface and iPod. Even a rental car if needed.
One volunteer and we're all set!!!
Anyone in the Los Angeles area with a C6 with Bose and NAV...

Speak to Ralph, Victor or Keith…
anyone?
By they way, I did some more experimenting and decided to go
ahead and leave the ipod plugged in. Not sure when it did it,
need to do some more checking, but the X2i led went out and
the head unit shutdown. I left it in advanced mode when I shut
down the car. I've been leaving the ipod connected when I get in
and out for the last couple days and it's shutdown everytime. Go
figure, what I thought would cause DBS actually may have helped!

So at this point what is and is not working?

If the ipod is disconnected the X2i and hu do not shutdown unless the
fob is left in the driver seat area. Leave the ipod connected, shutdown
and leave the car and all shutdown.
In advanced mode the button labels don't display their function - don't
know if they are supposed to but they sometimes have them and
sometimes are filled with nonsense.
At least in the 05 you can switch back and forth between manual and
advanced mode.
Sometimes the next artist is shown in the title area while the current
one is playing.
The sequences to select artists, playlists, etc aren't intuitive. It would
help if the button labels were used.
Sometimes cannot switch to FM or CD source - appears to be locked
on ipod. It switches better when switched back to XM mode. Also
sometimes cannot goto XM. For some reason mine is using XM2 not
XM1 as the manual says.
When turning on system sometimes the FM1 source comes up instead
of XM/ipod where I left it. Switch to XM and there is no sound. Must
switch to ipod MANUAL to getipod sound... can now switch back to
advanced mode.
Worst one now is sometimes lose the CDX option for the cd changer.
I need to unplug the X2i and CD and reconnect to get it back.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
able to move back to another source I've disconnected the X2i until
AI comes up with a working soloution.

I wish they would have had a random enable/disable setting like the GMIP-01 does from Metra/Axxess.

it used the XM radio preset stations, so it was alittle hard to remember what to press, I am sure with practice you would remember.
but on manual mode it worked great, almost liked that better...

2-if you figure out which button is which perhaps you could let us know to save others the trouble of trying to figure it out.
thanks,
JB

When in full control mode, you control the iPod using the XM Preset Keys:
- PRESET 1 - Switch inputs (XM/iPOD/AUX)
- PRESET 2 - Help (repeated pushes displays what each preset does)
- PRESET 3 - Up/Next
- PRESET 4 - Down/Previous
- PRESET 5 - Select/Enter
- PRESET 6 - Selection Mode (Genre, Artist, Playlist, etc...)
