Can someone post pics of the install or where the connection is? I'm pondering a purchase but would like to see how easy the install is first. Please help!

OK, appears a few more have been installed. Looking to see if you
have the same problems as I have, please answer:

1) Does the X2i shutdown when you power down and exit (LED goes out)? Head unit too?

2) How easy is it to switch to other sources (CD, XM, FM, etc)?

3) If you have remote CD changer do you lose it (no CD/CDX option)?

4) Are the preset labels consistant or do they randomly change?

5) What is the version of your X2i?

6) Nav or No Nav?

7) C6 year?

I'm trying to determine if these are AI problems with all X2i's, certain
configurations or if I have a bad one.

thanks
Rob

I purchased the Nucleus and cable for the Ipod and received it today. I hope to get it installed this weekend.

I have an 06 with the base radio system; Am/FM/Single CD Player.
(NO NAV, NO XM, NO External CD)

I'll get back with results if anyone is interested.

Got the replacement module today in the mail, I hooked it up, it works great.

The green light does go out sometimes when you shut the car off, other times after a certain amount of time. Today was the first day, and I didnt get a chance to fugure out the shut down process.... I'm leaving the box exposed for now until I am 100% sure.

So far so good.

Automatic or manual trans? This seems to be an important option to track with this project. Thanks!

Any other issues pop up in the last couple days? Where do you have the IPOD connector routed in your car?...does it have enough cable to get to the console? Thanks for the info.

Another possible option for those who might miss this in the general section. Link.

Well where are they? I have a C6 with nav, and I called and left a message with AI, but have not heard back from them.

According to their webpage, the unit is supposed to remain on for 30 minutes after the car shuts down to allow the Ipod to recharge.

The operative word is "supposed" -- after over an hour mine is still on

C6's have that built in electronic delay that keeps certain things running even after shutting off the engine. It's possible that the circuitry in the X2 is somehow fooled into thinking the car is still running. Maybe it needs to "poll" the electronics a bit later to determine if the car is off?

Victor said the real issue right now is not the on/off problem, but that some customers cannot even get the thing to work on the Nav screens.
