I do every day on my commute. It dims the radio or music slightly when Waze is giving its reports.

I have an app (Llama) on my phone that detects connecting to the headunit via Bluetooth and turns on my WiFi hotspot, which the headunit then connects to. If you can't turn on a hotspot on your phone, you'll need to purchase a 3g dongle and slap a SIM into it for this thing to get Internet.

Some info on customization of this HU is posted here. I certainly agree with the conclusion.

I will not replace this head unit with anything else that’s not Android based, that’ for sure!

Default SIRIUSXM radio?

I was so excited to learn of these Android head units but I have not seen any mention of their ability to integrate with my SIRIUSXM radio. I have a 2007 C6 Corvette 3LT with Bose, nav, sat radio. Onstar, etc. Having to give up my sat radio would be a deal breaker as I do not want to get it via a streaming app and run up my Data usage. I would like to integrate regular sat radio in the samecway that Kenwood and the others so if at all possible. Any thoughts on this?

It wouldn't hurt to contact the vendor and suggest that tuner support (external if not internal) be added to a future model. Meanwhile, SiriusXM Lynx appears to be an option.

Lynx delivers the unparalleled content of SiriusXM Satellite Radio or Internet Radio.

As the first SiriusXM radio to include both Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® technologies, Lynx doesn't have to be tied down to deliver the ultimate listening experience.

Stream stereo audio from your Lynx to all Bluetooth stereo audio devices – everything from headphones, to portable speakers to car stereos.

Thanks for your suggestion. The space is limited enough as it is so I have to find a head unit that will allow for builtin Sat radio, or at least work with the Corvettes sat radio option. I am surprised that they do not accommodate this on their unit with SiriusXM now having nearly 30 million subscribers. The main reason I want to do this is for Google Maps. I love the GPS navigation on the Android phones but would prefer that it be built in to my car rather than just my cell phone. Also, the idea of having to subscribe to overpriced discs to keep the mapping data current is a bit of a turn off. I wonder what the best choice is these days as a solid upgrade for the 2007 Corvette with Bose, sat, etc. The original system seems archaic and non-intuitive in every way. Any suggestions for a new head unit that I might have missed?

Yes, I'm running a custom firmware from XDA. You have to be certain to use the right file for your unit; there are variations based on display resolution & number of cores.

I know what you mean. It hurt to do, and the modified bezel isn't quite a perfect match for the old texture, but it's worth it in the end.

Default Vette specific unit

Here is a C6 specific unit, unfortunately running windows. I've asked if an Android version will be made available.

XM streams at 56kbps, which is why the sound quality is mediocre. You could drop your SXM sub and use a data plan for just about any online radio source at 64kbps for less than your monthly SXM cost.

I highly recommend avoiding these. WinCE is awful. Awful!

Guess you guy's are just replacing stock with these.. As the sound quality stinks, And if you use the radio at all, well reception suck on these.
Im keeping my pioneer AVH-X5700, as im into what i listen to for quality.
And have 6.5 in door's, and sub in back, and a helix kick *** amp.

So i was interested,, but after research and reviews - i wont spend this amount on adroid units and thier lack of sound quality, and reliability.

Radio reception is better with my Android than it was with the stock H/U. I'm using the stock C5 speakers, and the quality isn't wonderful, but I don't care. I listen to sports talk radio a lot more than music, and for music it's 'good enough.'

I do have to ask, though; if you connected the preamp outputs of one of these units to your amps, why would the sound quality be bad? It's really the amps and the speakers that matter at that point; generating a decent waveform for the amp to amplify shouldn't be that hard.

There is alot more fine tuning at the H.U. on my pioneer,, And the preout's are Whole lot better, Internal's ( forgot name of parts ) that are in my unit that makes , the better sound.. Just like, kenwood is slightly better sound than pioneer, but quality went , ?.
Like, if i replace my pioneer with say ? a Jenson.. Sound quilty goe's way down..-( Internal Parts ) and my amp and speaker loose..
Example's, of some adjustments on mine..
slope adjustments
crossover's.
More e.q adjustments if needed...
More control on the loudness (setting ) Yes loudness button can kill a good system.
True spec's, compared to pumkin

If i was going to replace a stock head unit with one of these, and everything else was stock, then yes i may consider..

That is indeed the intended audience. Corvette is not an audiophile platform, unless we're talking about the exhaust note...

I've been enjoying my HU. Only problem I'm having is the station and song ID not spelling or translating properly. I've been emailing pumpkin over the weekend looking for a fix or disable. Most that ride in the car think it's a lot better sound that strock HU and the android functions are great. It does make the radio appear chinese when the info isn't correct. I've turned off AF and trying to find the RDS to turn it off and see if that gets rid of it.

Sweet! I'm thinking of getting a 7" one but just afraid if it'll have fitment issues. With yours, I know it'll fit since it's been done.
