Okay...here are just some of the things I am working on ALL at the same time...not necessarily audio related, but kind of...
Enclosure being built for 2 of these... I have 9 hours into these calipers...only have ONE fully complete These just came today! Stoked to get these installed... They're awesome! Had to get her tuned and dyno'd... Had to put my Cobra on the trailer to Vegas... And I still have more artwork being done up...
So...these things take time. LOL! I'll take more pics as I go, I promise.
Just added Lamin-X to my new lights. My harness bar came in, so now I can install it and get the rear enclosure going. I have to buy the nitrous bottle bracket still...looking to drop the car off at the audio shop in April sometime.
It always makes me nervous installing Lamin-X because the cloudiness seems to take forever to go away. But it will...it MUST! LOL!
Major changes beginning...sorry for the crappy photo, I need to vacuum. Went from the 10W7 to one of the two 13TW5V2s. I need to retune for this thing...but the output is insane from such a small sub. NOTE: Everything pictured is "temporarily" installed. I had to ditch the old box to make room for the new enclosure...

Having a down firing sub has changed EVERYTHING. I had the car out all day yesterday and got to listen to a variety of music. Now don't forget, I haven't tuned it with this sub at all...so it's just on amp/DSP settings from the old W7. My gain is about 15% of full so there is a TON left in it. Without rambling on too much I can safely say that this was the BEST decision I've made so far. I don't know if it was my old sub, or the box it was in (leaning towards the enclosure) or the way it was firing, but I could never get it to sound right. There was always something...it would sound good on this song, but sound crappy on others, bass would disappear on the road, and I just never got actual "enjoyment" out of it. But with the 13TW5V2...it's a game changer. The output is just as much as the W7 audibly (and louder if when I wanted), but it just reacts so much faster. Now when I listen to rock/metal, the mid-bass is present and full. The double bass drum beats you in the back with perfect clarity. You hear individual drum hits and not just vibration. And the biggest piece of awesome news, the bass doesn't disappear on the road! This really cemented my belief that the up firing sub was cancelling itself out. I'm VERY excited to tune this thing. And I'm even MORE excited to get to where I have two of them on 1000W's. The brief test drive with that was freaking crazy...but awesome. I'm now convinced that in a C6, if you want clear bass with maximum clarity and precision, a DOWNFIRING sub, preferably a shallow, is MANDATORY!!! Again, I know it's shitty to look at, but it's 100% temporary. My harness bar is being painted right now, and once that goes in, I can drop the car at the audio shop to start getting this enclosure built. I'm finally installing the Singer alternator this weekend as well as a XS power battery. This should give me all the power needed and full output no matter what the demand. Of course, I'll take pics (and attempt some video with the GoPro). I'll throw it out there, what would you all like to see video of? I'm happy to provide that community service...just let me know what you'd like to see.
Stay tuned!

Major changes beginning...sorry for the crappy photo...
How much clearance do you have between the cone and floor? Is the sound vented in all directions, or only forward or to the sides? It's tough to tell from that picture.
I'm curious since I had a fantastic improvement going from rear corner or even rear center mounted subs to the "behind your shoulders" location as well. But mine (a pair of 10w3's on an HD750) are in a rear-firing enclosure there. I could probably experiment with setting that enclosure on small spacers in a down firing arrangement, but I don't suspect it will move the nulls around by much since the wavelengths are so long and the actual 3-D location of the driver isn't moving much.
