I don't see how Heisenberg's uncertainty principle has anything to do with it? Too much pop culture physics?

And I don't want to debate what science and religion have to do with eachother, I just didn't want ol' Einstein being misrepresented here.

I read this whole post and I might not be getting it because I'm a dumb redneck..

Every time you get in your Corvette and take a nice drive without worrying about getting shot or killed for no reason be glad you live in REDNECK country.

I have to admit I made the same mistake of not reading GDiana correctly when I was new here I thought he was a she. OOPS he's only a moderator...lol

Hey is my truck a redneck truck?

I guess I'm a redneck then and proud of it. This is considering the fact that most of those "redneck' quotes are really true blue American and NOT redneck. You need to listen to Jeff Foxworthy a little closer.... I don't think you quite get it or you're just trying to make some off the wall political statement. If that's the case... this is no place for it. We talk about cars here.

from my very personal point of view this thread has developped beyond the expectations of who started it and from my personal point of view i'm very glad it has...i've been always curious to know how we were ,beyong our common enthusiasm for corvettes, and what was our living 'philisophy' but i always was pretty uncertain to start a thread about social and, why not?, political beliefs, since a couple of months ago i started a thread about the 'today reduced liberties in our society' and, in reply, i was nearly lapidated by quite a few members in the C6 forum

from what i've understood here the word 'redneck' is a summary of quite a lot of good ,and some bad, atributes, and like all the words, apart the definition of 'god' for who has the faith, has both worlds inside and a mix of complementary beliefs.

after all we are all rednecks here, even somebody like me who can barely understand its meaning...and what makes of this forum's melting pot a big bunch of rednecks??? it's a corvette and everything good that this name represents, apart from power, alu heads or 3.73 rear gears...it represents the best of america, the freedom, the singularity of each man, a long and streight forward road with an infinite and uncertain horizon ahead.
this is the challenge that makes each of us a perfect 'redneck'

Having googled the quote myself, there are just as many Web sites that credit George Washington for making the quote than Web sites that don't. I guess it comes down to what one chooses to believe.

I used to think I was a bit of a redneck (despite my residence).
That means where you live - for the true rednecks.

I may make a ridiculous amount of money doing my high-tech job,
but we have crappy old vehicles, a chicken coop, and I heat
my house with "farwood" that is cut from my land.
Things like this .. .and a perpetual mullet made me think I was partly redneck.

After reading some of these quotes ... I am very happy to not be a redneck.
Frankly, I'd rather be a pot-smoking, ****-watching, lazy-*** hippie.
I love "That 70s Show" .... not "Beverly Hillbillies".

So, alas - I am not a redneck.

WHEW - that was close !!

PS - If you "Googled a quote" ... you might NOT be a redneck.

Redneck computer glossary:

>> LOG ON: Making a wood stove hotter
>> LOG OFF: Don't add no more wood
>> MONITOR: Keepin' an eye on the woodstove
>> DOWNLOAD: Gettin' the farwood off the truk
>> MEGA HERTZ: When yer not keerful gettin' the farwood
>> FLOPPY DISC: Whatcha git from tryin' to carry too much farwood
>> RAM: That thar thing whut splits the farwood
>> HARD DRIVE: Gettin home in the winter time
>> PROMPT: Whut the mail ain't in the winter time
>> WINDOWS: Whut to shut when it's cold outside
>> SCREEN: Whut to shut when it's blak fly season
>> BYTE: Whut 'em dang flys do
>> CHIP: Munchies fer the TV
>> MICRO CHIP: Whut's in the munchie bag
>> MODEM: Whacha did to the hay fields
>>
>> LAP TOP: Whar the kitty sleeps
>> KEYBOARD: 'Em new fangeled pianers
>> SOFTWARE: 'Em dang plastic forks and knifs
>> MOUSE: Whut eats the grain in the barn
>> MAIN FRAME: Holds up the barn ruf
>> PORT: Fancy Flatlander wine
>> ENTER: Yankee talk fer, C'Mon in y'all
>> RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY: When ya cain't 'member whut ya paid fer the rifle when yore wife asks
>> MOUSE PAD: That hippie talk fer the rat hole

There is nothing more hopeless than discussing science or history with a person veiled by religion and with that I concede all your points. I hereby declare my alignment with the christian right and admit the earth is flat. May we never fall off the edge.

I think the idea was a separation of Church and State not Church FROM State, wherein we wouldn't have a religious ruling party. Our country was establish on a strong belief in A God, but not of any one particular religion. I think often people and the media ignore the words in bold text below.

Amendment I - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
