Default Some Bodywork Progress

I have been working on my 69 triple black vert for 4 years. Mostly taking it apart, blasting and repainting parts, doing the mechanical items, but not as much on the bodywork. I did a lot of fiberglass repair and sanding last fall but with winter and all the dust bodywork creates, I stopped until the weather improves where I can roll the body outside. I couldn't stand the back end of the car looking like it did for so long, so concentrated on that and finally sprayed the epoxy sealer primer yesterday. The car must have been backed into something as the top right rear had some significant issues, but I think I got it all back to where is should be. There is still some finishing work that has to be done, but at least I am making progress now on the body which is my last major hurtle before reassembly.

As I purchased the car.

Epoxy Sealed:

I did these C5 seats a few weeks ago. Bought a salvage set for $100. then some new covers and brackets to bolt them direct to the floor with no sliders. Note the tiger skin cover on the original 69 head rest. It was certainly special!

This has been the big project over the winter. Now I'm just waiting on the new compressor and brackets from Hot Rod Air and the 2 groove PS pump pulley to finish the belts etc before I drop it in the chassis.

That's a vast improvement from the time you purchased the car. It's all going to be worth it when you get it done. We still need to get together one of these days. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the complements guys. It has been a lot of time and work. But it will be satisfying when it's done. I don't think my neighbors or family believe it will be a car again!

71coupe454, you mean this frame?

So a few more before and after pics.

The car came with these funky yellow hi beams, but decided to keep them for now. Lots of broken off screws on the headlight bezel, but I got them all drilled out and re-tapped.

There is quite the gap at the back of the door, but that's because there is no support on the rear body mounts. When I lift the back up it comes in line. Final fit when the body is back on the chassis and the front clip installed.

Tilt tele from TX had lots of cleaning and blasting required.

Some new images from today. I did some final touch up work on the underside of the body and then dropped it back on the chassis. I think it has been at least 2 years since I pulled it off. Time flies when your having fun???
