I'm thinking the same thing, well sorta. I'm looking for an early C6, white. That'll make my collection red, white, and blue.

They of all seem to be the lowest priced resale of generation Vette's. The thing I hated the most when they debuted was that you could not tell the difference between them and a Camaro or Firebird when they were coming straight at you. Don't mind me, you still own America's greatest sports car and I am sure they are as proud of it as I am of mine.
GM has a history of committing abortions with regards to design and engineering.

The C4 is a fine example of this.
Other examples?

Anyone remember the Cadillac Cimeron?
What about the ever popular Pontiac Aztek?
Remember the lovely rebirth of the Chevy Nova as a 4 door economy car?

Now GM is not alone in their incessant need to NOT leave well enough alone. I had a hand me down 74 Mustang II (my first car) in high school.

To each his own. I know from experience that anything negative said about a C4 comes back to bite you hard. These guys have a hard on for their cars, and they should. Its what they love. I'm sure there is someone somewhere that has a Cimeron that they love, masking tape and Cavalier grill too boot.

But as an artist, from a pure design perspective. Neither form follows function. There are no lines. There's nothing distinctive or attractive in the shape. I'm really not sure what they were thinking when they started working the clay. Bored, drunk, or some new kid with a fresh idea about how to make something simple.

It's as if Frank Lloyd Wright decided to build a tract house, but still kept the Prairie Style name plate on it.

Just my two cents.

I have both a c3(81) and a c4 (89) if I had to chose it would be the 89 better handling, more power, just over all better. The 81 is fun to drive that gets more miles on it than the 89. Both are close to stock but not quite, engine upgrades on them.

Of course on that mark, I could not agree more. The C3 is FUN to drive, PERIOD. Performance and handling is a world apart from the C4 or higher.

I agree. I have tried to make some light of this stupid thread, but instead berated. I think I am done with this place for a while, I get enough irritation at work. I like all Vettes but prefer some over others, I think that is the whole point, but it is lost by some. :O)

I'm still a firm believer that 99.9% of the stuff that we all say here is more "giving people $hit" than anything else.

It's just an internet forum. Tomorrow is Friday, beer thirty comes quick and is the same time for any generation of Vette owner!

You know, I do not agree with alot of your earlier comments but I looked at a couple of your cars pics and I will admit that I kinda dig the 2 tone Vette.

I am a new owner of a C4 and here is why. I helped drive my uncles highly modified C6 across the country last year, LA to Omaha, was the most comfortable car I have ever made that road trip in. I was so impressed I immediately started looking at older vettes, I wanted something fast and cool. I grew up in the late 80's and graduated HS in 1993, so I figured I would start with that era. 9 months later I own a 1996 LT4. I have owned many hot rods over the years and whatnot but never really found a place on the internet that gathered so many people with the passion for a single type of car till I found this place. I simply had no idea people got in pissing matches over which version of Vette is best?!? Gimme a break.

Fast cars are awesome, if I had a 1978 Mustang that could perform like a 1996 LT4....well I would drive the **** out of it. I just dont understand what the crazy rivalries are about here

Throughout history and since the dawn of time, men have fought over they size of their members. It's in our DNA.

The nice thing is we can do that all day long and still sit down and have a beer together.

Why you got to get so bent? It's just a forum, don't need to question my intelligence, a little sensitive I believe. We can compare degrees later or you can run off, either way.

Here's a completed C3 project for you (actually a couple). Let me know when you get your DD done and we can talk;

It'll run with my C4, until it has to turn or stop................

Thx, they are both 81's. The black one has been stripped of all CCM system components and a built 383 stroker was dropped in it. Fully open exhaust and a 700R4 trans, it's a screamer. Mostly used to cook rice

Man some of you guys are pretty harsh. I've never really had an eye for a C4 until lately. I own a landscaping business during summer between semesters at school, and we've got it really filled up this year, so I'm gonna have some extra cash laying around. I think I C4 might make a nice 2nd Vette

Hekking, I'm digging what you've got going on with the black 81. Kinda similar to mine.
