Doorgunner's '68 Convertible Project

A very old quote.... "We shall surely hang together, should we hang alone!"
Think about that one a minute!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I dragged myself outside and made the cardboard (rough) pattern so I could plan ahead for winter/rainy/nasty days when I might be able to do some physical work to the rear modification.
I realized a few hours ago that the car will be 50 years old on December 15, 2017........I NEED to get myself in gear!

Maybe this may re-energize those who may feel that it is needed.
Many of you know by now what I do. And TRUST ME....I have moments where I can not get into the groove. I feel like my world is crashing around me and I have no control of the tailspin I put myself into. I know I put myself into this career/profession and I am NOT complaining.
But...sometimes it can even overwhelm me. As the saying goes. "I have too many irons in the fire". When I feel that things are 'just not right'...I take a step back and try to regroup. 'Keyword' here is try.
I have projects going on all the time and sometimes the parts all come in on the same day and I have those customers sometimes all wanting their car to be completed first.
So knowing I can not be at five different places at the same time..I get one done and so on...but the one thing that I have realized is that I HAVE TO want to do it and ENJOY that I am doing it. IF I am forced and under pressure to complete a task...I do not handle that very well because mistakes can happen when focus and attention to detail on that repair has been distorted.
So...for those who are working on projects and have come to a point where you have to stop for whatever the reason. I completely understand. And if and when you get back into the project...hopefully your desire and LOVE of working on it has not lessened. Becasue forcing yourself out in the garage to get some work done....is not what I would recommend. When a person does that...generally the work is much harder...seems like everything goes wrong..and not much gets done...and THEN that is when quality standards begin to be suffer or be lessened And then all you can think of is how fast you can get done with it.
And keep in mind.... and yes ....like wrote ..I chose my path so I know what I am in for. But when you are done with your project and glad that it is completed...much like when I get done with one...I have another project much like it or even worse getting ready to come in and get started on and do it all over again.
So just enjoy what you are doing or that enjoyment will not last for long when times get tough.

Wise words indeed DUB...Hang in there Doorgunner. You currently might not be making progress on the car, but you've come way too far and expended so much effort that I doubt it's in you DNA to not see this through to its completion - no matter how long it takes!
