How about these numbers?...….I need to make sure the wheel well arches are centered on both sides of the clip.........…...............…...

Yep R...I better get them from you....no sense in having to saw the nose off a second time.....I also want to check your measurements to see if the wheel wells are "where they are supposed to be".
Late this afternoon I decided to remove some of the crud from the wheel wells/etc. The 4"dia. sanding disc kept clogging up with grime so I switched to a 4" dia. brass wire wheel which was 3 times faster than the sanding discs...…..
BEFORE...……50 years of grease/grime dead raccoons/dead armadillos/etc…..
AFTER...………much better, but more sanding to do…….
Kinda' clean now...…..
Still a bit nasty...……..
I'll clean and sand the other wheel well/inner fender tomorrow....then begin fiberglassing the inside areas where repairs were made.....and re-bond the inner fender splash panels.

Rock and roll T. All that nasty work will pay off in the end. This is going to be one cool car and a massive accomplishment in many ways for you. Another persistent forum member who just won't give up. Many will learn from your thread on what you can do if you want.

Thanks R.....team effort.....plus the PTSD/flashbacks aren't bad right now (even though it's another sleepless night)....
give me those clip measurements when you get a chance.
Ok t, sorry it took me awhile to you some measurements. I would go on record as saying like the political poles within a % margin. Anyway here's what I come up with:
Center of clip to bolt hole = 65.5 "
Bottom of clip to rear opening = 23 5/8"
Bottom of opening to front opening = 31"
I also took one measurement front clip to wheel opening running top of tap even with the side vents. Rear opening = 25"
Font opening = 47.5"
Hope this helps. Should get you pretty close considering things like an elongated bumper hole, front clip install. Noticed the other side was all within or less then a 1/8" variance. The last would be the jerk who installed the clip (me).................................... ........................................ .......................

I got the same measurements on my front clip (up to the headlight openings)….one of the measurements was weird/I probably mis-interpreted what you were saying….
It looks as though I will be able to graft the repair parts on without becoming a nervous wreck!

So come on to the best of your knowledge this is your original front clip. You found the side marker holes. What about the lip on the front of the fenders that the valance attached to? And the lip that the grille went against? If that is still there it's a nice reference point you want to try to leave attached to the clip.

It seems to be a '68 clip with the small marker lights.
Previous owner completely cut off the fiberglass flats that the chrome trim normally bolts onto......
as you know they also completely cut off the fiberglass bumper reinforcement along with the riveted support bar
then they grafted the '76 nose/grill onto the remainder of the '68 clip.
So…..the headlight opeings are my only reference point---which is great that they didn't mess with the headlight openings.
I still need to finish reinforcing the underside of the clip where I made repairs (working on the motorcycle put me 2 days behind schedule)
I'll post what I am about to do with the nose repair so you guys can correct me if my ideas don't seem workable.

Tony, working on the Corvette has put you about 5 years behind schedule on the motorcycle...
Annnnnd has worn meself out also.....I did break away and beatified the underside of the clip a little more....driver's side...…..
Passenger;s side...………...
Passenger's side wheel well...……...……...……….........
Now.....four more areas to build up before I can flip it to the upright position. That's when I'll tape off the areas that I need to "cut off"
I'll post pics so you guys can advise me.
How are you doing on your car's fear clip? errrrrr….Rear Clip?
Its kicking MY ***. 8 months working I estimate an average of 10 hours per week and I'm still trying to get the passenger side rear bumper right. Its getting old, but I'm getting pretty close and its been a few weeks since I had one of those "It was so close and then I sanded a little bit and its all messed up now and I can't figure out why" situations.
