If you are have some trouble with overheating, try putting some Redline Water wetter in you cooling system. You can get it at autozone. Worked for me and a few friends.
I just got around to reading your thread all the way through. I can't believe
the ambition it took to tackle such a overwhelming project.
Mine was simple as I had an original complete 73 to begin with.
I will be glad when you replace the rear deck and the front to bring back
the 68 to what it should be.
I am waiting until cooler weather to have the trans rebuilt and then get
everything back into the car and hear it fire up again.
We both know the obstacle of contending with the heat and humidity during the summer here.
Good luck with your project and I will keep watch.
Heh Gunner,
Congrats on finishing(if one is ever finished). If you cruise the Gulf, come on down to our little Piece of Paradise here in Punt Gorda. We have a few Vettes here, a lot of good seafood, and some liquid refreshments to hold you over til you can get back to La.
Thanks Men......I'm just trying to get to the point that I can put a few hundred local miles on it without worrying about overheating.......everything else seems fine mechanically.
(I'm still waiting......... .....for the PTSD to slackup on me mentally so I can concentrate ( I took a sidegrinder to the front "bumperettes".......LOL.......I think!)
Once I'm satisfied with dependability.....that rear bumper clip will be replaced with the '68 clip that is in the storage room so the car can actually start looking like a '68 after 3 decades of being a ?78? (then the front bumper clip will be next)
AirborneSilva quoted this: Don't be hard on yourself Brother, that's our job ............Now get your butt out there and git er done

Yeah! that's the part I want to see. Take me back to 68 please.
I actually made it to the garage......and it's in the same mess that I left it in!
There was a small problem----I promised my darling wife I would move the unassembled-parts-cabinet from her side of the garage.............
Since I worked up the energy to move it, I took out the battery drill and went to "work" since I was tired of tripping over all those containers of Corvette and Harley parts.......
The next time I go in the garage.....I might actually get to work on the car!

Like the cabinet for stuff, good job. It's tuff stepping over things and finding stuff when there is a mess. You are running out of excuses so rest, take meds and we will see your progress through your post.

O.K........O.K.........You have me cornered............
Hey buddy, just checking in. A little off the beaten path to swing by for coffee; but like most of us, I'm missing hearing about the resurrection of your beautiful ragtop. Hopefully you're in good spirits. Next weekend up here is Thanksgiving.......lots to be grateful for. Get her out for a spin, and put a big smile on your face.

I"ll second that, DG hope you are doing well and you know I got your back when it comes to supporting you and your project. Pace yourself and do what you can when you can.

I've said this before, but it's the "pit" that I'm in now that has stopped me from accomplishing anything more than mowing the lawn
Family tragedies/PTSD have had me house-bound for the summer.....meds aren't doing much to keep the brain focused, either (I still make a trip to my garage every few days).
I still haven't reassembled the Harley to sell it in order to finish the Corvette and put decent paint on it.
When this present bout with deep-pression ends, I'll post some pics.
Thanks, again!
I've probably also said this before, but I planned on having the car on roadtrips by now.
The good news is----it's Summer in Loo-z-anna 10 months out of the year....so I'll be able to drive it when it's finished. The paint can happen after the car is completely dependable

DG, there ya go again taking our job from us
Things usually don't go as planned, I had planned on having my 5 speed in and working on amassing the parts for my dash so I can get my Vintage Air (which I still don't have either), in to make this drivable in here in San Antonio in the spring and summer. I still don't have any of the above We do what we can when we can is my point
