At this time of year I can be working on the Vette project and tears begin pouring down my face...then I am reminded and realize.......
Next month in October is the Birthday of my son Blake.......
The following month of November is the Memorial of him being murdered by an Illegal Alien who evaded Deportation and then killed Blake the same week.
The man has resided in U.S. Sanctuary Cities evading Authorities for 16 years.
I cant imagine the frustratino you go through with that.. the loss the anger that a pos is still out there probably getting all the bennies they can (In ca its a bunch) and walking free. Damn.
you know i am joking Tony. just sayin anybody can eff up an o-ring. not trying to downplay the issues that plague your life. i got lucky. i joined the navy about a year after the last helo lifted off the roof of the embassy. only thing i have to stress about was all the CPO's that didn't believe in the "new Navy" and kept screaming at the newbies like it was still he old Navy...

The sorrow and disgust I have come over me reading this and seeing his beautiful face, I cannot fathom what you go through.
May the POS that stole him from this earth rot eternally in hell!

Priya was asking about an easy-to-use one-person door lift to make installing/adjusting a door easier.
I lost the original pics so here is the updated version...this motorcycle jack takes all the misery out of door installation/adjustment.......
Here ya go.....other members convinced me to build this frame a few years ago It's wide enough to fit the width of the lifting platform. It's about 2 feet tall. The base of it is long enough to fit the lifting platform. I stapled an old thick towel to protect the paint on the door...the staples are on the backside of the wooden frame. I used simple straps to hold the door tight against the frame and used a wooden tapered shim under the door to make the hinge holes line up with the birdcage holes.
But Priya gets a salute for reminding us that there should be an easy way without hurting your back, your front. your sides, your door paint, your spouse's feelings, etc. !

That door lift looks like a great help. That will be in our future too; now that Dub is gone and can’t.

I've been laying low trying not to whine or throw a fit.
Our son's Memorial Birthday was on October 28th.
The 16th Memorial of him being murdered will be on November 18th.
The Illegal Animal was scheduled for Deportation the same week he slaughtered our son.
It's been rougher than usual dealing with the Injustice and lack of concern by our administration.
The car hasn't been started or even touched in 6 months (I did begin reassembling the 4L60E which will be put on the back burner...It's like you members said..."Make it drivable and worry about the TH400-4L60E trans. swap next summer").
Being a decorated combat veteran (no brag/just facts), I would have never thought ANYTHING would drop me to my knees...

Doorgunner speaking just for me but I'd bet all who are aware of the great loss you, your wife, family and friends have suffered only promote you escaping the pain via your rebuild and sharing your aquired knowledge in doing it with us all as we hope it helps to a degree.
I'll never know your pain but I'll keep you, the wife and family in my prayers.
Be strong even in the worst of times.
I'm sorry for your loss, doorgunner and having to live through all that pain.
When you work on a big project it can seem like it's short term and then one day you look back to the start and you've spent years more than it seemed like you had. I think about what I have completed and it helps me to feel I can finish it off.

Doorgunner, thank you for your service sir. Without getting into the politics part, its so sad when someone who has no business being in our country is allowed to remain in a sanctuary city. Or any city for that matter. Your son deserved a life.
