I can relate to your situation, as I had a similar experience two weeks ago when some 20-year old driving his moms Camry screams "Corvettes Suck" as I was making a turn. Good Gawd! What is going on with society? What would possess a person to go out of their way to tell someone they don't like your car, or house, dog, etc. I mean, why the extra effort to be a d*ck?!?! I don't give a &€£¥%# what a person may think about my car, as I didn't buy it to please anyone but myself.
A Camry? Probably the lamest car on the market today. Booooring and so common they are basically invisible.
Life is too short to drive a $#!+ box like a Camry. I'd rather have a lobotomy.
I love you guys! Some of these comments are hilarious! And you know, it was early in the day when most people are sober and thinking clearly. I realize that there is nothing on the planet that "Everyone" likes, or loves. But the express your dislike towards an iconic American muscle car just struck me as odd....No matter his age. The C7 nod was the second one of those. Here is the nod tally: Two C4's, Two C7's and one C3. Not bad for the dozen or so (maybe 20?) times I have had the car out!
I really believe when a person disses something the reason is they are jealous plain and simple, I realize that some people in this case might not like a vette but that doesn't mean they have to be a flaming d-bag about it,
To make a conscience decision to go to an extra effort to give you a thumbs down tells me besides being all butt hurt jealous he is all upside backwards in what should be important to him a basic angry bitter looser.
The c7 guy...well he wishes he had your car over his....
As revnek said he was the passenger . The loser don't even own a car. Probably has a " Born To Lose " tattoo .
A thumbs down, "Corvettes suck", etc. are a cowardice/jealous act.
I seriously doubt these childish people would have the back bone to say/do these things if you both were standing outside next to your parked car.
Not worthy of your consideration/anxiety/time.
Unfortunately an ever increasing portion of todays society, do not understand or practice the human courtesy of respect.
Y'know, one other thing to consider... while this stuff is often about jealousy, these days there's a whole new segment of people, often young people or those of an extreme political bent, that "judge" other people's choices and in 2015 for some reason they are emboldened to be rude to them, swear at them, even damage people's personal property.
Tolerance for others' decisions has been replaced with mob mentality, rightous bullying and vigilanteism. It's sort of a sign of the times.
They are too young to know anything about muscle, power, performance, and cool. It is all foreign to them, just like VCRs, Cassettes, 8-tracks, and so many other items we grew up with and learned to enjoy along the way. Never let the ignorance of a few tread upon the pleasure of the knowledgeable. We know what they will never understand, that being cool is knowing how to handle yourself in public, even in the face of childish behavior.
To those of us that have the pleasure of owning and driving these automobiles I say cheers.

And not only that, they see a Corvette as a sign of the wealthy and the direction the country is going is that wealth is bad. You should not be allowed to own a silly high dollar toy when there is poverty in the streets of Chicago and Pittsburgh. That's not your money, you didn't make that business happen. Take it away, and increase the welfare pot. Socialism.

Twenty year old driving mommy's Camry was just jealous. I love your car. If I saw it on the street - it would get a big from me.
Based on the guys age I'll bet his opinion of Corvette is based on the video games he plays. The C7s in Need for Speed don't handle as well as the level 6 upgrades Nissan Skylane GTR you know!
It probably had nothing to do with the Corvette and everything to do with the "beer nuts hat spun around backwards ".
I would never go as far as a thumbs down for anything like that but I do think "idiot" every time I see a hat worn backwards.
I wonder if some of these comments (Like a thumbs Down) come by virtue of a desensitization of public by Movies like Fast and the Furious (And i really enjoy fast and furious movies).
Corvette is hard to beat in its category to those who actually know car stats.
Oh geez, in my hast to reply I missed that the passenger did this...too funny...who is always the most critical big mouth know it all jack *** d-bag at any show or cruise?.....the fellow who rode there in his buddies mini van or other POS...nuff said.
You mean the guy whose car has a rock crusher transmission, 4 barrel and a three quarter cam and is better than anyone out there but is at home in the garage?

I know you meant to write 'three quarter RACE cam'. I have not 'heard' that in a LONG time. I remember that a person was something if they had a FULL RACE cam. A three quarter race cam...just did not cut it.
Thanks for writing it.....I thought that saying was lost and gone forever.

That was a big time saying back in the 80's when I ruined countless 340 Mopars! Based on the math, what would that translate to in terms of lift? Something that would throw the rockers through the valve covers I think. lol
Actually the "3/4 Race Cam" is still alive and well in the Flathead Ford world'
Isky Max 1 is still available and advertised as such. I installed one in my 8BA Flathead.
