It is getting time to sell my restored 68 numbers matching 427 rag top. It has a saddle tan leather interior and I am wondering how rare this is. Trim tag is 421/988 and my Corvette black book does not show this number for 68. However my car was built in Nov of 67 and there is a 421 for 67. My question is how rare is this and is there a way to find out how many saddle interiors were made in 68?
Thanks Chuck
Are you the original owner? If not, a PO could have changed out the factory seat covers for the saddle leather covers.....just because...
While the '67 cars had the saddle leather seating, the seats were very different and the covers were not transferrable to the '68 cars. Could 'trial' seat cover sample have been made in saddle color? Yes, but there's really no way for such samples to be injected into the production line system.

I am the second owner purchased in 1990, first owner took the car off the road in 1974 because it burned a valve. He had good intentions however he never got to the repair. The car sat in his garage until I got it 1990.

I would suspect that the seat/interior assembly line had some left over 1967 material and decided to use it up. Likely pretty rare but also might be difficult to find the quantities produced.
