You guys know what's going to be a huge annoyance? Listening to people ask why it isn't RHD. The very few times I've mentioned I own the car, that's usually the first stupid question I get asked. Then they act all disappointed that it isn't.
I even had some clown explain to me how "easy" it is. Then he starts talking about sprockets and chains. lol
Why would anyone think is should be RHD?
I guess I need to watch the movie ???.
The movie car was RHD. It was built in the most hack, dangerous way possible. Some people think I should make it the same way. I guess they assume I won't ever drive the car?
Like who in the absolute fack would driver a car on the street converted with chains and sprockets?
I never watched the movie so If I saw your car going down the road, my first thought would be, it was really cool and would totally appreciate the time and craftsmanship someone put into it.
It would be even cooler if I had seen the movie and connected the movie with the car.
Your car is even cooler than the original, because you corrected it from RHD and put the drivers seat where it belongs!
Does anyone here have a pic showing the rear window and how it's installed? When I bought the doner car, I stripped it down fast, and in my haste I guess I forgot to document how it was installed.
If I remember correctly, there was a fiberglass housing/mount thing that the window sat in, but now I'm not sure.
It would make sense that they would have converted it to the earlier removable unit. Two reasons, it was a common mod in the day and if you were filming, access is everything.
Here are the pictures of before and after I removed the rear window from my 73.
I included some pictures of the plastic frame that holds the rear glass and weather stripping in place.
I hope they help
Picked up a bunch of parts for the car this weekend. Mostly interior panels, and a beautiful 69 steering wheel. Met a super nice guy, who had a absolutely beautiful 69 427 4 speed Lemans blue Vette. Spotless and stunning from every angle.
Side note, seems a few Mods on here have it out for me. Infraction points adding up. Probably wont be able to see this thread to the finish.
Well, I'm back after serving a month long vacation from this place. Things are progressing well. Will hopefully have a bunch of progress pics to show you guys shortly.
Hey, my friend recently bought a Corvette from the same year and was hoping to make the same build. Would it be possible to give him blueprints of some sorts or post the dimensions for the hood?
He's pretty good with his hands, so a few pointers might get him going in the right direction.
