Your welcome!

I know it's not the style most guys on here like, but I love it. I'm getting started on shaving the firewall now. Hopefully I'll have pics for you guys soon!

That will be a change of pace, going from precision oily work to dirty, dusty ‘glass work!

I come here now and then out of curiousity. It is most definitely not my style, I am very conservative on matters of style on these cars but I have to admire your dedication. Keep it up. De gustibus non est disputandum!

Thank you! You're right, it's all about different tastes.

Here's a little preview of the firewall action:

I totally admire, appreciate and support your work and dedication on this. I actually love the movie.

It looks great, even if it isn't necessarily my style! I'm also not a fan of the gigantic big block strokers with blowers sticking up out of the hoods either.

I'm more of a road racer look kind of guy.

That's what makes this passion so great, right? We all have different tastes and preferences but at the end of the day it's still a Corvette.

I love all types of Vettes. I want to build a replica of the #57 Heinz Corvette next. I have a diecast of that car that has been fueling my inspiration for one for a long time now.

I'm loving this thread! I'm a big fan of the Corvette Summer car. I was able to go see it at Korky's in California after the movie came out. I was 14 at the time.
You are truly my hero for building this car. Can I call you Kenny? Lol

That's awesome you got to see the real deal! I haven't seen another in person, only in pics. I know there's a few floating around out there, but none around my way.

Not to hijack to much, but this was open on my desktop anyway. Saw these two in Monterey On the 50th anniversary. Colorful piece of Americana!

I definitely would be building the 57 car if I wasn't building this one right now. I love the old Vette race cars.

I'm going back and forth on the firewall. Initially I was gonna make it totally flat, but decided to try something different. I like it, but I dont know if I'm totally sold on it.

What do you guys think? Keep it with the curve, or box it in and make it totally flat?

As long as you don't paint the aluminum LS heads, everything else is great! I love seeing it come together.

Where are you mounting the ECU? Relays and electronics? Can you still get a Vintage Air setup installed without changing anything?

Form follows function. The curve looks pretty cool, just make sure it lets you do everything else you want.

How often will the hood be open? That would influence my decision.

Not painting the cylinder heads!

The EUC and fuses/relays will be mounted behind the dash on the passenger side. I'm thinking I'll run the harness thru the firewall down low, near the trans tunnel. I'm not planning on running any hvac whatsoever, so that's not a problem.

Honestly, probably not much. You get the look of the car when the hood is down, but that said, the engine bay has to look as good as the outside!

the curve is unique and cool...I would keep it, also gives the passenger some leg room
