New crate engine is now a steam engine....bad problem...
I'm also curious, you going to go for a refund or accept the replacement? I'd want a refund and would have an engine built locally, or would build it myself. I've a classmate with a '72 GMC Truck that he put a 383 stroker in. He built the whole thing himself, cost like $5000 for all of the parts, and that was him building it. I think I could spend just a touch more and build a 427 or 454 and do even more power.
I was thinking of going with one of your engines for my 85 vette. After reading this thread, I think I will look else where. Your customer service is a nightmare, and I am glad I am not in his shoes. Randy

I am going to look for a local shop.

P.S. Anyone that was thinking of buying from them should take the time to let them know they are losing business.
You may have just screwed the pooch. Not a smart move. If he wanted us to email them, maybe he would have said so. Maybe one to many beers??

Taking the motor down to the machine shop after lunch. The owner said he would take a quick look, but probably couldn't get to it right away. I'll let you guys know later this afternoon what the preliminary inspection reveals.

However, if they make this thing right, they have a golden opportunity to come clean and tighten their quality control with their subcontractors. That may convince forum members to give them a second look.

ohhh, the suspense!!!
Anyway, we had a long conversation, and he basically said they will do what is right. He asked me for the link to this, and I tolk him I wasn't going to reveal it at this time. Went into a good discussion about damage control however.
I'm sure the next thing they will do is start pressuring the board owner to remove this thread, or they will seek legal action. So if this thread goes bye bye, you will know why.
At this point in time this is not a bashing string of blueprint engines. This is open and honest discussion concerning one of their motors, and the events surrounding the damage. Hopefully it will continue to be here for a long time.
Gotta grab some lunch and take mile 20 minute journey into the city to further this investigation......I feel like I'm part of a crime scene unit!!
To wrap things up, I'm not mad or Angry with blueprint at this point. I'm just severely dissapointed. Their customer service has been very good so far, and I expect they will do the "right" thing regardless of the influence of the board or message thread.
Randy:
I assume that if you have read the forum that you understand that he is just
telling about the situation that has happened to him. In no way is he upset
about what has happened because he understands just like I do that is why we
have a warranty on these engines. I wish you would take the time to re look
at the situation and before you purchase why not wait until you see the out
come of this bad situation. It is my goal that when we have a bad situation
like this that the customer walk away saying that wasn't that bad.
Just wanted to voice some reason here. Things do happen and I am proud of
the way that we handle these things.
Thanks

No one should email or call the company and say they are not going to purchase the product for two reasons
1.) the company is going to become defensive and give this guy a hard time about his claim.
2.) no one yet really knows what is going to happen with this, so dont be to quick to judge.
Good luck MSVETTE
