FYI, remember there is not much Vette back there......will the Wilwood caliper fit on the brake rotor? They told me "no" or are you suggesting as you did putting it on the drive shaft, interesting combining it with a diff pump. I would like to add coolers to my diff and tranny eventually.

Looks like the shafts similar to a Pantera that uses unequal length a-arms.
Should give great geometry
You have done some fantastic things as I have been watching your progress for the last 6 years. You have to be very proud, like a new Daddy!!
It's funny, I'm a retired senior systems engineer and know electronics and programming as if it's second nature for me. However, in my last years here on this Earth I would love to learn to work with metal. Some of the things that You, Norval and others can do I find amazing. My dream is to have a mill and lathe in my garage in the future. I know I will have lot's to learn but I have seen some of the best examples here and know what to reach for. Unfortunately, I can't weld due to an implanted pacemaker/defibrillator but my best friend is a welder and can do those things for me.
Again, congratulations Marck!!! Can't wait to see the end result of all of your hard work.
Looking good Marck. Looks like a true race car. Does this mean that Maybe next summer will you be test driving?? I hope so.
Norval - lets plan a trip and meet up in Frankfurt am Main and drive up to Marck's place when it's ready! My last non-stop flight out of San Fransisco was only 12 hours there or maybe even Amsterdam

George unless it is all inclusive, lots of sun, an ocean, topless woman all the boose you can drink I won't go. I am too cheap. Love Mexico or jamaica, woman were better in Jamaica but mexico was bigger.
Would love to see and met Marck but it would put too much pressure on him to have us both at the same time
You and I would be fighting over the passengers seat and I don't sit well on another guys lap
we can all give it a spin, one day....as long as he made it wheelchair accessable.
I wonder what would be more exciting, the rush from TT's car, or while experiencing that beast, my internal defibrillator going off when it thinks I'm going to die
yeah..if it ran I would probably have done it but the susp. needs some final work and also needs a little welding here and there (and a longer driveshaft)
the rear is intentionally high..it would hit the original fender arches otherwise because I still have to cut it after properly placing the L88 flares... you can probably see that the wheels are centered in the flares..or sort of anyway..they are about 3" further back and the track width is about 2" wider than stock (depending on adjustment of rear suspension arms)
T/T i know exactly what you feel about the wish to drive her asap...i remember once, a good few years ago, i was at home with very bad fever and flou...it was getting dark and by then i had a motorcicle i had just finished to modd into something very nasty and sweet, just after she was finished i felt bad and was forced streight to bed...BUT i just couldnt resist more then a day at bed, went down with 40 c grade of fever and run her throught the very cold night
it's called the attraction of the wildness
T/T rush with your project, i cant wait any longer to see and hear her runnnnn
What ya doing to day? Our 9 hours difference in time zones. It really looks nice Marck.
It appalls (sp?) me about how little I done my 79 Vette.! I've almost got my old 427 back together. I went bigger cam and compression with an alternative firing order called 4/7. At my low power level compared to you it's boarder line dangerous without a skilled driver. My daughter is 21 with some racing experience and I don't let her drive it
I just wonder what are you going to do once it runs?
I always did little baby steps over the years. Little better this and that and drove it every time it ran. when it broke I made it better
I then knew the car I knew what to expect. I hit the gas too hard once or twice with a new motor and tire/gear change all at once and it did a 360 degree loop going onto a 5 lane freeway at over 100Km. I learned.
I have driven some fast bikes and machines. My only advice to you is be safe and come home. Your machine could or might be one of the baddest Vettes on the planet.
My only claim to fame is that I drive mine to work or on long trips!
Marck you know how annal I can be with my constant harrassing of people like Oliver and yes I do get too carried away at times but I feel I have to make one more annal critiszm???
I feel your upper roll bar hoop is wrong, way too low and you will regret it down the road. I know you said the body is not all the way down and again I could be way wrong.
I feel from only looking at the pictures that the upper hoop MUST be moved up for comfort and the side bar with a guy your size would be better if it was pinned and swung out. The mustang has the bar to climb over and my wife really doesn't enjoy it.
George has a low bar and the side bar irritates his leg on long drives. You could end up with the same problem.
Looking out the windshield it is not nice to have the top of the window cut off with a bar.
Mine is almost totally invisible even from inside the car so it doesn't irritate me or my wife.
Again you know I am just being over annal. Sorry but that is something I would not live with.
There is no roll bar hoop, I don't have a hoop, it's a side bar with a header bar. It's not too low, the body is spaced up too high., It'll come down another inch or so. The side bar does swing out, I don't have to climb over it.
The side bar is in exactly the right spot, I can rest my arm on it comfortably and my leg doesn't hit it, everything will be padded anyway.
I don't care if the top of the windshield is cut off by a bar, I don't look up anyway and the windshield will have a large sunband across the top.
I really don't care about aesthetics, comfort and such. I still fit inside and the t top can come off without having to wrestle the latch, the roll bar is almost touching the tops, I can just unlock the latches.
The body btw, will not sit on the stock height, it'll be lower, this way the car will appear lower without having to scrape the ground.
It also looks far worse than it is because you see a bare birdcage structure, no pillar covers no weatherstrip no nothing. Add those and it'll look much better.
I didn't know the side bar swung out? Sorry.
You know better then I how it fits, I was just going by the pictures and I was wrong.
As for the Tee top latches they are to the outside and the header bar is more inboard so latches are never a problem.
Looking good Marck.
To which I may add,....any of us bothering to build our cars even 10% as much as TT, Norval. and others, will build to their personal fit...obviously....everyone remember Merlin?? he really didn't think/plan ahead for his own personal accomodations, as in that video I saw, Steve was a large guy, my height easy, and wider too, so when he went to actually spend time with the car, he found it uncofortable....
I have modded hell out of my car to accomodate my stiffening skeleton making it more easily driven....
But time, MONEY are limiting factors, and like I stated before, I am simply amazed Marck has stuck it out all these years, 95% or more projects this type get tossed off over time....
My father had a phrase back 50 years ago....called 'Stick-to-it-tiveness'.....
I didn't know the side bar swung out? Sorry.

No problem, I like feedback, you guys think of stuff I could have missed and I would hate to have to weld on it when it's all powdercoated and done. I will say though that your cage does offer more room than mine but I wanted to keep all the bars as straight as possible, that way it's stronger. I also wanted to nest as many bars together for triangulation, if you look at the next pic of my swingout bar adn where it attaches you'll see all of them gather in 1 point:
I have since also added a gusset to that area, it's rock solid now.

TT,
Pardon my confusion, but are the wheels three inches back (requiring the longer driveshaft), or just the flares? Just trying to understand all the mods you're doing. I'm enjoying the progress. Keep the updates coming!
