73 way back machine
Found a tee snapped off.
Headlights now work and hold quite well.
Bypass does not leak, as there isn't one.
switch is quiet too.
Vacuum done.
Took maybe an hour.

The air cleaner fits, a good thing.
Car starts easily.
One.pump cold, and off she goes.
I will deliver it next weekend.
I replaced a broken door spring. Wish all chores were that essy.
This coming week, I will get with Doug, and do the interior chores.
Doug is a wiz with interiors.
Quartz clock and volt meter.
Drivers mirror, and pass outside door latch is jacked up.
Need to clean it up and test drive.
He will have a reliable toy he can take anywhere.
I took the drivers door panel off to see what I was dealing with. Found the door handle mechanism broken. Only the screw is holding the door lever on.
I have to see if the owner wants to flip $80 for a new one. It functions, but its only a matter of time.
The qtz clock he supplied is wrong year, so dial is green. I assume I can swap faces.
However the other gauges I question.
The fuel gauge sits at 1/4 tank. Is that normal off?
The oil pressure does not sit at 0, and the temp gauge reads wonky.
My car, I would change them all , but his call.
I would hate to do this twice.
Gauges are $69@, and the correct clock is $170.
It would be nice to be done with it all at once.

So far, two items ready. You can see how whako the old ones are. The temp spins like a Milton Bradly game board. Wished I had caught that sooner.
The oil reads high. I hope the new one doesnt read 20lbs.

Have a couple sitting around I'm not gonna use- just pay shipping
When my plastic line broke years ago, I replaced it with a nitrous oxide hose. You have to source some fittings to adapt the hose. I've long since converted mine to Autometer gauges but I may have a pic of the hose and fittings. If you think it would help to have the pic, I'll look for it and post it.

I figured that was a fair deal. The line is 55 years old.
The owner says he uses 20-50. That must be why the oil pressure pegged. I will try some fresh 30wt VR1. I bet it settles down.

So while I am changing all the lubricants, and the car is in the air, I will take the ammeter lead off the starter, and swing it onto the ground post. That solves half of the wiring change to volt meter.
The other lead is on the positive post top side. Have to find a keyed hot for that upstairs.
