Corrected the fuel return line. Not easy without dropping tank.
Sender is in, but they cut the hard line. I will use my friends beading tool tomarrow, and do it right.
Installed the choke kit.
waiting on pump to finish hard lines.
Lars hooked me up with proper fuel inlet to plumb hard lines. I ditched the screen in carb because it will not fit. Besides, I am installing an inline filter anyhow.
More better. Now I need carb studs, and need to see if I can use a thicker/ better gasket.
Gotta do the foil trick to check hood clearence to air filter.
Good job. When I got my 68 it came with the Mallory Unilite, no vacuum advance, Accell SuperCoil (the big UNIT), holley double pumper with no choke, and all that....... looks like it's all fix-able. If you have to budget for the Distributor I would consider one of them inexpensive units advertised for chevys and come with tach drive (advertised all over). If they would have been available way back when---then that's what I would have gotten instead of MSD-8572 which required the MSD box.....and, yeah, I still have tye-wraps holding plug leads...just because

USA my friend. For $10@, I bought 3.
I also have 3 NOS L88 pole pieces. I hate to waste one on this project.
I need to get together with 69427 on this project.
The MSD pick up made by FORD might be the ticket.
Pertonix I have found too many manufacturing errors.
IE, a brand new Pertronix distributor had two cylinders out 1* each.
Monday my A/C guy came over. We bled the system, rerouted the hoses, and charged her up so I could install a reservoir.
Of course 73 is one year only, so I will shim the tank.
After 3 wrong caps, I bought one for an 81, and done.
Material is taking forever.
Tuesday I managed to give birth to the steering box without touching the headers. Soaked it in lye
overnight. Today I will blast it and install the kit.
The " rebuilt" box had two new seals and packed with grease. The bushings and bearings are original.
Buyer beware. Not all rebuilds are equal.
I'll set the preload and lash tonight, and paint it black.
The pitman arm nut is trash.
I found one on flea bay.
There goes another week.
Fans should be here Tuesday.
