So this is the engine side of the bulkhead connector. Pretty simple.
Alarm, ign, and tan can go away.
If this was a restoration, a new harness would be the ticket. This car is too modified for that.
I think this works easy and is safest.
The ammeter will work, but calibration would be incorrect. I could do some research and find the correct shunt, but it might just be easier to switch the dash to a VM and be done.
I do have the original wire and a milliohm meter.

Plenty of room now for HEI distributor.
I found the connecter for the temp sensor on ebay,
in Anaheim of all places.
I also ordered the a arm flaps just to finish the engine compartment off.
Since the washer pump is gone, I will remove the reservoir also.
If he wants to add it later, I will get a later tank with the pump at the bottom.
Well, I decided on this layout. I can add some kind of gaurd for the positive post when I am done.
The second picture is the spot I reserved for headlight relays, should he decide to add that. It does make a huge difference, and negates the fire hazard under the dash.
A few more tidbits, and I will lace it up this weekend.

Nice thread. The owner is lucky to have you working on his car. This 73 reminds me of my 68. Goods bones but highly molested by Bubba especially with electrical.
Found a fan relay schematic I liked. Some dude named Richard454.
I added a tap for the carb kick up solenoid.
The relay hold current is .15A
Kick up solenoid is .5A, and the choke coil is .9A.
Much easier to lace up on the bench.
A few more wire to lengthen, then onto the car.
I will just loom it last in place.

I mounted a ground post with well nuts just past the condensate drain.
I will install a #6 from the bell housing to here.
I do not like using a starter bolt.
I also started the fans back from the front.
This morning I ran the wires from relays to fans.
I also ran the ground wires back to my ground post.
More assured, and easy to access.
The loom is the DEI split loom.
Rated 340 * F
I ran the A/C interlock with the fan wires to the front. It operates one fan with A/C on, and the kick up solenoid.
I used a "two fer", I call them. The reason I ran it here, is so that it can easily be switched. As is, the fan and kick up operate when the A/C is on.
Switch the two blue wires, and the fan and solenoid cycle with the compressor.
Dealers choice.
