Spite is just a good of reason to NOT pick a part as "I know a guy" is to choose one.
Good luck with the build, it sounds exciting. Can't wait to hear how it goes. And if you are able to take Tony up on his offer, can't wait to hear about that either. Even if you can't test it under perfectly ideal conditions (efi intake) it might still be neat to see what it does with the different heads.
Thanks, if I could work out the logistics, I'd love to take him up...may not be possible. Not my call. It's a time/money thing.

why have you chosen the dart block with the 2 pc rear seal. there are blocks that have the 1 piece seal. in all the motors i have built the 2pc seal eventually gives way to a leak. i have not had a 1pc seal leak in the past 5 years. also you will have to go to a flywheel that was not meant for the trans in your car. all this seems to add up to problems in the long hall. also would like to see what the emissions are on this when you finish.

Both are true. I have an auto, and we already have a new flywheel that will work.
I have no idea why Dart is making it this way....I am a bit concerned about the leaking...
I can't for the life of me think Dart would launch a brand new series of blocks that would have a two piece seal that would have problems.
I'd appreciate comments on this if anyone has one.
Thanks Pete, any leak issues/maintenance issues I need to be concerned about?
Did you get my check?
Thanks...
I would not worry a bit.
The builder usually offsets the parting line of the seal aprox 1/4 inch, and puts a thin smear of rtv on the edges that butt together,.
2 PC seals worked for 30 years, and still do.
I did receive the check. I presume the converter arrived safely as well?
