My opinion is it will run fine with a Mini ram, superram, or HSR, but not a TPI style intake. The cam is a flat tappet design that was designed to work with a carb but a good tuner can get it to work well with an intake designed to operate in the 3000 RPM to 6000 RPM range. The TPI intake is not really designed for that RPM range and if you plan to run it the cam should be changed.

That P/N cam according to my Howards book the is a retro-fit Hyd Roller.

What is your timing set at now?

Typical idle would be 750-900 RPM.

I got it set at 6 degrees like the programmer told me. Buy the way what size rear end do I have, it has a 3.07 in it, but I dont know if it has a dana 36 or dana 44. And it idles at 800 to a 1000 in drive.

800-1000 RPM is about right for what that cam is going to want to idle at.

I am looking at a 3.54 richmond gear but was wandering if someone else makes a more affordable one. I found out it has a dana 36, three bolts across the top.

Check out Randy's Ring and Pinion. Their Yukon Gear set should be a little cheaper.

It has 70* of overlap (advertised). The intake valve opens at 37*BTDC and closes at 69*ABDC.... IMO the reversion is going to cause kinds of tuning and low speed drive ability problems with an intake that has a huge plenum like the HSR or MR or SR.

Might make decent power at WOT but is going to suck to drive around at part throttle.

Clearly those valve timing events are for a carburated engine. The advertised duration and lobe centers are very close/same as the camshaft in my 92 (which has a single plane intake conversion)...

If your going to cam an engine like its carb'd then use a carb intake.

If your gonna use a TPI intake then cam it for the TPI.

Also - Those factory exhaust manifolds have got to go.

What does the rest of the exhaust look like.... FYI the factory Y-Pipe system flat sucks at the kind of HP that engine could make.

That cam will not work with that top end. End of story. The lobe centers are way to close and the cam will start to run at about 3500, the top end is starting to gasp at 4500.
