Time to close a chapter :(
Seen my share of resto rod C1/2/3 cars and these are guys that have money to put whatever seat they want to in the car but they use C4 seats.
I realized after putting 2000 miles on the C6 that technology moves forward and well that's just life. I loved my 88, and I would have sold it a while back if I didnt get the 421 built, but like an old girlfriend it was time to let her go to the better looking one.
As far as the seats go my C6 seats are alot more comfy then the C4 seats. One thing I do kinda miss is that cockpit feel, but this one has other feels that the 88 didnt have. I also kinda liked taking ppl for a rip in the 421 and the holy **** factor! But in saying that this car will receive probably a set of headers, a good air intake, maybe a set of pulleys, and a tune and will make 450 plus hp.
I am not braggin guys but the advances like active handling, and the big brakes and fuel mileage is all pretty cool. I dont want to put the hard core C4 guys down because again I still love the C4's, but for what I wanted which was a car to road race, and be reliable this was the car for me.
Take care again!
I still always check into C4 tech as it was automatic for me for the last decade. So let's see some big stroker builds, and if you have the LTR setup sell it!

I recently purchased a BMW 135i convertible with the M sport package, basically for my wife; a little small for me, but point being...........
time marches on and you can feel the technological advances in this car to the point it makes you smile; twin turbo inline 6 doesn't even put out the power my modified 85 Vette does, but Jesus this little 300 hp pocket rocket does everything SO WELL.....you can't beat modern technology.....so rock on with the C6.....I understand!
Going down the same road with my 396 LT1 in a couple of weeks. Plan to put it up for sale and move on to a C7. Learned a long time ago with owning Corvette's, you will know when it's time to move on to another one.
Would like to sell it to a forum member if possible. PM with interest and will go over details.
On a side note i like the C6 but dont love it. The LS2 is a good engine in stock trim and can easily make 500 plus chp with a few mods. In saying that I miss the power of Jim Barth's built 421......
Not sure what car is next but i cant see having the C6 for as long as i had the C4 for.
Take care boys and Gregg

On a serious note my family is growing and I need back seats and I am considering a CTS-V plus we r building our dream house so the C6 had to go.
I have enjoyed my time of the forum and Ill be checking in. I have met alot of great guys from coast to coast. Keep the C4 alive and strong boys'
If u get get solid $ for the C5 then maybe an idea because I think they will fall a bit still.....I got lucky buying the C6 but it doesnt always work out that way.

The C5's and all LS motors can be easily modded to make good power. I have just a few mods on mine and it runs pretty well.
Then get an inexpensive C4 just for the "feel" of driving it. I just got a '95 6 speed and love it. I know it is not as fast as a modded LS, but it is a lot of fun to drive.
Good luck with your choices.

I guess thats the solution if you like the looks of a base C5. I personally think the C5 will go down as the least desirable Corvette when the dust settles.....I looked at a few C5 Z06 when I bought my C6 and I couldnt get past the seats and interior but the Z06 sounded wicked in stock trim and performed great for the $$$$.
