So you got a new car Rick? Glad to hear it. Btw saw the pics of that tb. It wouldnt have fit anyway, its got the older throttle cable. Good luck
Thought I mentioned but maybe not. I found a 2005 C6 with 23000 miles on it. The cool thing I really like is that it is black and has the Z-51 package like my 88 had. I decided to skip the C5 because imo the C6 has more to offer.
I will be flying out and driving it back next week. I am pretty excited.
This isnt the car I am buying but mine is nearly identical.
Had a few guys asking to put some pics up of the the ride.....and what the old girl looked like after a few parts were sold. Gregg you might want to close your eyes on the last two pics......
Its a 2005 C6 with the Z-51 with 24000 miles. The car is as bone stock as they come. So far I really am enjoying it, and I find the close ratio trans and all the other stuff is pretty cool that come with the Z-51 car.
Here are a few pics of the new car, and the old one. I ended up parting out the 88 as it was the only way to get good $$$ for the car. I felt a bit bad at first ripping apart the 88 because it was so clean, but these cars aren't worth a whole lot running, and worth a lot more in parts.
Take care!
I was sad and happy to see the 88 leave the hoist as I had it for 11 years, but the new car is pretty cool, and is suited better for the odd trip to the road course.
In saying that the 05 is much slower then the 421 in a straight line (few mods may help that) but the cornering and braking isn't even close.

New car looks awesome, take off and don't look back!
I love my '85 I rode to elementary school in it and it will always be a sentimental car for me, but I look at clean C4's and I still won't pay more than $7500 for them. Parting it out was the way to go and now you've got a heck of a lot of car to go with it.
I finally have the C5Z I bought running how I want to. So I'll probably drive it for a year or so then see if I can scoop up a clean C6Z.
