I hear people here saying that the cars can handle the speed, and to that I agree, but it's not the car, but the driver of said car that scares the hell out of me. Most drivers never take a high performance driving class to really learn how to handle the high speeds that these cars can obtain. I was on a rescue squad here in VA for 22 years and I can't tell you the number of times I've pulled bodies out of cars because the driver lost control.
The other thing to consider is that roads here are not the greatest. You always have to worry about condition of the roads, wild life and other crazy drivers. Come to think of it, how do you think you would have felt if a deer (lot of them in MN I bet) had decided to run across the road.... Let's see deer + vette + 110mph = life insurance pay out to someone.
I hope you're not thinking I'm trying to flame ya, cause really I'm not, but some where I will assume there's someone who loves ya and would rather not have a LEO come knocking on their door with bad news of your untimely death.....Enough said!

Wow, thanks to all for the great advice on what to do..
What a great forum..
I even printed some of the advice off so I can go over them in greater detail when I have more free time. I will be contacting the courts later on today and WILL be getting a lawyer. I will keep you all posted on the outcome.
As for the road conditions it was a 2 land road which is smooth and clean (I drive on it a lot). I when around a car and saw nothing but open road (Traffic was very far up ahead) and just kept going.
Thanks to all that posted some great advice, it is much appreciated.
Last time I checked, our cars were made for speed. Then we buy them and add all kinds of parts to make them go faster, stop better. grip better and handle great. Speed is what these cars are built for. At 110 in a 6 speed, you would just be shifting into 4th gear.
Too bad you got a ticket, get a lawyer and try to get it reduced. Looking at the new rules in your state... they will be out to hang you if you dont. Best of luck to you.. and let us know how it works out ok?

This is coming from a guy who has 0 points for 12+ years, but I was pulled over recently doing 119 in a 50.(no cars in sight) The cop came up to the car, saw all the diognostic equiptment on my lap and said "oh your from the Vette shop" and turned around.
at least you had a LEO that recognised you.. could have been worse...
110 is quite safe on the highway in a corvette. i feel much safer in a vette doing 110 than i would in a dodge caravan with a soccer mom driving 65 while talking on a cell phone and yelling at her kids in the back seat. however, if you speed you have to pay the price if caught.
I would get a good lawyer and just let them take care of it. 110 MPH is fast, I bet you went by when she was entering the HWY or on a side street and saw you go by. Just bad luck. It is fast, but truely on the low side of what these cars are capable of doing. It happens, maybe not everyone here will try it, but some do. Good luck with getting it taking care of where it will not effect your license and insurance. That is the main thing of importance at this point.

I agree,
We have a handshake agreement with the local LEO's, end of a Military road that 1.5 miles long, no one in sight=green light. A few T-shirts have gone a long way. like I said, theres a time and place.
I got pulled over last night for going 69 in a 65!! Guy musta been bored. He was like, I'm just giving you a warning and I was thinking to myself, yeah cause a 69 in a 65 will never hold up in court.
Does anyone else get pulled over for BS like that in your vette? Maybe it's just the hwy patrols are turds here, I dunno. I do know I've made many 2k+ roundtrip road trips and my driving stays the same but I've never been stopped anywhere except my area of the country.

Yee Haaaa!!!! Doug, can we put a smaller pulley on my car and retune it??? I'm itching for more power, these 346's are mighty close!!!
