I actually cancelled my Mini-tub order, After 2 months of waiting and having Lingenfelter say it was still going to be another 2 weeks before they are ready to ship ill let them stick out a little it wont bother me at all. The inner wells actually got pretty worn in from being slammed and running the CCW Drag pack the slicks gave me the needed room to not have to do anything but bolt them up and go.

I doubt ill have to do any tire modifitcation considering the car is just going to turn any tire I put on it into smoke anyway

Will you need to sand the inner part of the tire at all to prevent it from spinning on the wheel at all?

I just finished reading this entire thread. Man....what a beast. This is by far one of the most detailed threads I've read on this forum in quite sometime. I commend you for sticking with your idea and making it a reality. For such a young guy(no offense) you seem very astute and professional. Congrats on a JOB WELL DONE. My hat is off to you

Great stuff, those powder coated rims look NASTY on your all black Vette. It was great to read about your prior expolits as a younger guy (though you're still pretty young!)...... Good for you!!! You got the education that probably helped you land a great job & now you're getting some factory training to boot!!

WRITE YOUR OWN TICKET, MY MAN!!!!

How long was it you'll be in Ga.? I'm planning a move down there sometime this year, would love to hook-up @ a local Hooter's & score ya a beer (you did say "21" right? haha).... Least I can do with all the great entertainment you're giving us on this post!

Can't wait for the dyno tune & vid (hopefully). BTW, why the vacuum pump? I know it's not a good thing to boost the crankcase, but I thought you'd probably be okay with your N/A setup?

Thanks Mike, ill be down in ATL from Feb to the end of June if your down around then shoot me a PM id be more than happy to grab a beer as long as I get a ride in the vette

The intake pipe should be finished fabrication soon and hopefully it can hit the rollers on saturday, if not it will be next week because Mike has to go out of town but I can hopefully put some miles on it before he gets back. He had it out and said he got the fuel trims to where he was happy and when Mike is happy its a very good thing.

Mike suggested the vacuum pump because he has seen gains of 25hp on the big motors and more power is A-Ok with me

25hp! and it's good for the motor? Sounds like a winning combo to me! I'll keep ya in mind for a Ga. meet, I sure as heck hope my house will be sold in the next month or 2 and then it'll be time to move!

CAN'T WAIT!!!!

GZ Motorsports made a kit specifically for street cars, its a modified version of the race kits with better pump oiling for street cars. Check out their website its actually pretty cool.

i have a question. how will tubbing your car make the wheels you have now go in any further?

if your wheels bolt up to the car right now and stick out an inch, doing a tub will not make them come in any further. the inside hub of the wheel is already seated in as far as it will go.

in order to get them to tuck in, wouldn't you need to get a different set of wheels that have a greater positive offset to begin with?

am i missing something here?

No your right, I ordered these because the Mini tub kit ended up being a no go, the offset on these allows me to run them un tubbed. The next set of wheels will run an offest that keeps the tires inside the wheel well and thats when I will need to tub it.

ahhhh i see. why don't you just keep the wheels and order the flared fenders?

i got my maxacc flares in late tonight, so i'll check them out in the morning when i get home.

i love the coke-bottle looks of the c6z's flares and these ones emulate that look very well in the rear.

That was another route I was considering, a couple pages back in the thread I posted that same question up. Im leaving for school in 3 weeks so I just want to get the car together and running right im not worried about the bodywork. When I come back from school the car is getting a new paint job so ill look back into the mini tub again or maybe decide on the flares. Post up some pics when you get them done

Is there a relief valve to limit the amount of vacuum? I know on our race cars we have to limit it so the oil is not pulled from the wrist pins.

Car hit the rollers about 1 p.m. today, I left work for a little but had to go back so I only caught 3 pulls

It made 602rwhp and 540rwtq on only the 3rd pull, I had to take off but Mike is gonna give me a call after he gets the tune to where he is happy. I got 2 pulls on video and is sounds badass, im picking the car up at 10am tommorrow and its suppose to be 70+ degrees.

^ Holy **** man... question... what about breaking in the car and drivetrain? Isn't it bad to just flog it right off the bat w/ a new trans/dif/motor?

How high are you revving it and are you using a MAF or SD?

Weve had the car out putting miles on it before it got dynoed, it still needs more break in but everything wasnt fresh by any means. The pulls he was doing he was cutting it at 7K he said he planned to end up about 7500 or possibly 8000 when its all said and done. The vids dont do the sound justice I was cringing during the pulls it was hurting my ears so bad
And its SD

^ Very very cool... can you spin such a long stroke up that high? Piston speeds must be getting crazy fast.
