Hold the phone---er, iPod---there, lccobra! The iSimple has the cable you need IF you have a CD Changer. If you plan on plugging directly into the back of the radio, then...nevermind.
I don'thave the CD Changer so I have to install directly into the back of the radio. Good looking out though!

Dash bezel, center console, HVAC, & stereo removed
Back of Blose Radio
The loose wire is the one you plug into the PHXGM4 harness.
I velcroed the aux2car box the this other box thing behind the HVAC.
I drilled a hole next to the ash tray and just ran the wire through that.
And here it is put back together!
It sounds great! This is definately kick @ss mod!
Question though, is this foam backing piece supposed to stick out like this? I couldn't get it to go any other way.
Great post!
I should have taken such detailed pics when I started this thread.
I like the way you mounted it. I took my car for a two hour drive and when I pulled the IPOD out of the console, it was really hot.
I think I'm going to move the cord to the ashtray and either custom mount the IPOD in the ashtray like another forum member did or in the cup holder similar to the way yous is.

Thanks! Your posts helped me out big time, like where to mount the aux2car box. It was a super easy install, very straight forward. I was suprised on how skinny the HVAC unit was, I imagined it to be as wide as the radio. I learn something new everytime I take it apart.
Hey Cozmo,
Does that pic at the bottom look right? With that insulation piece sticking out?
did mine this past weekend with the help of this forum and this thread! Sounds great, now i'm looking for the ipod cupholder mounts, anyone have an idea where to get these? maybe I'll try fleabay.

Mine doesn't look like that. Maybe you have some insulation or padding bunched up under the carpet.
Too many decisions! I had decided to go with the AUX2Car and return my iSimple (IPOD2CAR) unit to Best Buy. This allows the miniplug to be used with any player, not just the iPod. That includes a friend's phone that plays music, or my GPS unit that also holds mp3's, etc.
So I'm browsing the availability of AUX2CAR and find this "super" version that has both the iPod cable capability, and the AUX miniplug capability as well. A bit pricier ($155) but also provides more functionality on the radio for playlists, titles, etc. http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=1041
NOTE: I do not know the specific compatibility with the Corvette, but believe it is. I will make sure by calling the company in the morning.

Wow that's new. My guess is it's not compatible, since their iPod application guide (pdf) lists PXDP for the Corvette, and not the PXDPGMT which is this new super version. The PXDP is the iSimple.
Well i had no luck at walmart with the cupholder ipod holders, saw window suction cup ones at best buy. I did find and buy this on Ebay.
