Yes the LED strip mod in the PRRNDL is the way to go!!!!
Looks great! How much bleed out around the edges are you getting??
Tim
Hi Tim,
There is a little bleed around the edge of the plastic near the boot as you can see in the picture, I think this can be cured by sealing up the edges with some black material. The numbers and letters are really clear, I much prefer this to stock or even the 194 LED bulb.
I must REALLY not want to do this subconsciously or something!!!! I keep putting it off and keep finding excuses!!!
We know the Radio and HVAC look great with just those pink LEDs as the embedded blue film combines and makes a great bright purple. The remaining buttons shouldn't be an issue with the gel film you found, except for the HUD button... Might have to mod the back of the button assembly to accommodate the larger PLCC LEDs...
The map lights has already been done with a combo of blue and red LEDs to create a nice purple...
I was supposed to do the experimenting right?? I had a HD crash and lost the P/N for the gel film and the info on the LEDs as well...
or if you could get hold of a gel swatch book from Rosco or Gam, you could compare it to a piece of the stock film from a radio/hvac panel. that would ensure a perfect match.
