In my opinion my black C-5 is a better looking car than my black C-6. I have lost all interest in C-4's and back. It was a huge leap forward. I will never sell or trade it. I have 15K on it now. It is stock and detailed to the point it looks new.

I will add a C-7 when they do come out. I will trade my red Honda S2000 for it.

The C-6 is 3" shorter in the front overhang. 2" shorter in the rear overhang. 1" narrower and has a 1" longer wheelbase. This resulted in lower wind drag and make the car more quiet and faster. But I still like the C-5 better.

The C5 has timeless lines and will never go out of date!

Think of it like the '63 Split Window Coupe Corvette - man that will never go out of style or be dated it just is timeless!

Now a C4 can you say 80's

Thanks,Matt

For me, my C5 looks dated. Every time I look at it I am reminded that I am waiting for a C7 to come out, hoping it doesn't look like an upgraded C6. But then I could wind up waiting for a C8 - or C9, actually I could keep this car for quite awhile.

(you need to read between the lines here!)

I'm kind of liking that my c5 looks dated. The older it gets the more old memories are going to be associated with its styling. A '67 Vette looks dated too and when I see one it brings me back to the early 70's when my brother had his parked in front of our house. I thought that was the coolest car ever..

So true! Another point I wanted to mention is that sometimes a car can look dated just because of it's wheel design. Perfect example is a C5 with the wagon wheels still on it. I must admit that when I see one, I do think it looks somewhat dated, but if you take that exact same car and put on the 00-04 wheels, or just about any good aftermarket wheel, it makes a huge difference in the overall look of the car.

I've even seen the same effect on a C4. Someone I know picked up a 92 C4 last year and the first time I saw it, the car was completely stock, and while it did still look good, it also did look somewhat dated. A few weeks later I saw the car again, and he had lowered it, tinted the windows, put on an aftermarket exhaust, and most importantly he put on some real nice aftermarket 18" wheels all around. It was like a completely different car! Did not look dated at all anymore!

I love it when someone takes an old classic like a 1st gen Camaro and puts modern 17 or 18" wheels on it and lowers it. Not that there is anything wrong with the way a bone stock 1st gen Camaro looks, but when someone gives it that modern look, it really transforms the car!

So if any of you are starting to feel like the C5 looks dated to you, try swapping to a different set of wheels and lowering the car an inch.

For most people, the C5 look was a home run from day one. The C6... not so much. I'm still 'warming' to the C6's looks, but there's something that's just not clicking. Maybe it's because it sits up too high.

Sits up too high and is too short and narrow....except for the C6Z....

The interior is straight 90s... However, if I had never seen the c5 or c6 before, I'd guess the C5 was the newer car.

A properly modified C5 Z or FRC is a Classic.

I think a well taken care of C5 looks timeless. I also the the OP's friends want to start riding in a C6 so they tell him his is "old".
