Even The Stingray still doesn't look dated.

I get people thinking mine is brand new all the time. If anything the C5 is dated for the future.

Do I think it (C5) looks dated? No... it looks great now and will remain that way for years to come

The C6 is now in it's 5th model year. I hated the look of it when it first came out. It took at least 3 years for me to warm to it's styling.

But "warming" is all I've managed to achieve. It hasn't become......"Oh my God, that car is so fantastic I have to have one".

Like many others I still think the C5 is a better looking car than the C6.

So why is your avatar a picture of a C6 then?

(just razzing ya, I think that's a very cool picture of the C6!)

Honestly, I'm in the camp that believes there is too LITTLE difference between the C5 and C6. Non-Corvette owners have a hard time telling the two apart, much less which one is older and which one is newer.

Exterior styling isn't dated on the C5. However, the interior definitely is dated. The entire dash, buttons, and materials remind me of the mid-90's.

Still, what's wrong with the 90's? I remember buying regular gas for 89 cents a gallon back then!

Nope, I think the C5 is a beautiful looking car and FAR from dated. This is also coming from a C6 owner

Patman, Razz taken! Yep, if you get the C6 at just the right angle, in the right color it does look good. It's a great car, just doesn't have the lines of the C5 to make you say "Wow" with quite the same gusto.

My avatar is one of those professional Chevy marketing pics where they get the car looking at its absolute best, in a great environment.

The C5 and the C6 are both great looking cars......it's just that the C5 has a more "right" look than the C6 (IMHO)

The C5 is definitely not outdated by the C6..........yet.

Most people think my 02 C5 is new and can't believe the car is 6 years old. C5 is much better looking than the C6 w/ its exposed headlights. To me the C4 and C6 look like big Triumph TR7s. The C5 looks like an early XKE, all curves.

Only enthusiast know it's not new. I've had too many people ask me if it's new. And the people that know that it is not still say they love it. It's up to you if you want the C6Z, you can't go wrong either way. Keep in mind the Stingray are older cars, but would you pass up a 67 427 Coupe? I think not!

I think it looks very good for it's age compared to other cars.

I agree with you 100%! I love both the C5 and the C6 a lot, but do think the styling of the C5 is more of the typical Corvette style that stands out. When you see a C5 coming towards you from a distance you know right away that it's a Corvette, just like the C1-C4s. But with a C6 it doesn't really look like a Corvette from a distance. That's not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation.

I love a lot of different things with both cars, which is why my plan is to own both of them someday.

I know this thread is about the looks of the C5, but I thought I'd add another point as well, and that's the fact that the C5 doesn't "feel dated" to me either. Even though mine is now 11 model years old, and has close to 100,000 miles on it, it still drives like a new car. It doesn't feel it's age one bit! I'm not even the slightest bit bored with my car, I still find it a complete joy to drive, even though it's my daily driver (a lot of times people get especially bored of cars they commute to work with, but not this one!)

As you say, when you see a C5 coming towards you, you can't mistake its wide and low "stealth-like" appearance. I think the C5 has much more "extravagant" lines that makes it look more "exotic" than the C6.

The C6 is shorter, and it shows. It looks a little too stunted from the side view.....the C5 looks long and sleek.

The C6's rear end has that dip or dent in it.......I don't know, somehow it doesn't look quite right.

The C6 has the more modern angled styling, which I like, but the front of the car has too much of a "NASCA look" to it for me.

Don't get me wrong I do like the C6, and I know it is very easy to criticize the work of others after the event, but I don't think the proportions are "as right" as the C5.

But still a great car.

I had a 76 Vette last year for the Stingray. They kept the Shark look for another 6 years If I remember right (getting old). I love the look and still do but the thing rode like a wagon. My C5 has that classic look like the C3 but the ride is soooooooooo much better! The C6 looks fine but for me C5 has a more Corvette look. I think its more the headlight showing like the C1. My choice and my only the lights shouldnt show
