I'm sure they might work, but it would be difficult to keep the perfectly round shape with plastic with material that thin.

I'm sure they might work
Don't like the words sure and might being in the same sentence. Guess I'll take the penalty of a few ounces and go with the Al.

Dang, M3MOTORSPORTS, I was hoping for more. Maybe with now I can run an 11.970 instead of a .973. Either way, it'll be great to be able to see past the traps. I have the funky Canadian spec with light sentinel that I can't turn off. I've been disconnecting the motor fuse, but that doesn't really help past the traps where there's no track lights or the return road.

The aluminum shrouds are in route as the final piece for the first sets.

General Question: how many of you plan to paint the main shroud, lens and/or the aluminum projector shroud?

I will most likely paint everything (depending on what it looks like) Are the shrouds going to be bare aluminum or are they going to be black?

I plan to leave them bare in case the customer wants to paint/powdercoat them a different color or even have them chromed or polished.

Now can the llights and lens be mounted without the shroud? I just want to get them mounted because after Dec I wont have much time to get this done. If I can mount them and the lens I will do that then take the shrouds to be painted, but at least I could already have the lights mounted.

The main lens cannot be mounted without the shroud. I would advise having the shroud painted before installation.

Installation should take no more than an hour (if you can keep track of your tools better than i can...lol)

tweaking/aiming/adjusting may take a little longer....figuree another 15-30 minutes to get everything lined up.

Wow, I was guessing an all day job. This includes removing the original assemblies and attaching all wiring to the new lights?

The OEM lights are preety easy to remove once you can get to them. I would say maybe 1hr to remove both if that.

I am definately painting the shroud (to match car body color). Lens will remain clear. What I do with the aluminum projector shroud is dependent on how it all looks, but they will either be painted to match body color, brushed or polished.

Yes. I believe you will have to cut thee 2 wires going to the headlight motor since there is no quick disconnect (I suggest removing the motor fuses as well)

Aluminum takes to being painted quite well especially with a good primer and quality paint.

You can pull both headlight assemblies in under 15 minutes, with one of these. Get one of these, people. You can thank me later.

I have only pulled them out going from under the car, is it possible to get them out without having to get under it?

Any updates on the shrouds George?
